the Leninskiy Komsomol theater, the Satire theater, and the Operetta theater.

Many Russians enjoy participating in sports or attending sports events in their free time. In Moscow and other major cities, there are many stadi-ums, sports complexes and sports clubs that have classes for children and adults. The most popular types of sports in Russia are soccer, ice hockey, tennis and chess. The most well-known sports complex in Moscow is Luzh-niki Stadium.

Art exhibitions and galleries are also popular among Russians. The most famous in Moscow is the Tretyakov Gallery, where thousands of works of art are exhibited, everything from Russian icons of the XI and XII centuries to works of modern Russian artists. The Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts is also very interesting. In addition to its permanent collection, the Pushkin Museum has exhibitions from museums all over the world.

Russia has a large number of museums. In Moscow, we recommend visiting the Kremlin, the Armory, the Diamond Fund and the History Museum.

For vacations, many Russians like to relax at vacation spots in Central Russia or on the Black Sea. They also buy tour packages to countries all over the world, cruises, etc. Frequently, Russians spend their vacations за городом or in the country. When the weather is good, families will go to the country or to the beach. Sports outings are also popular: hiking, kayaking, mountain-climbing.

Probably the favorite place where Russians spend their free time is at the dacha, which is a small house with a piece of land of about 400–600 square meters. Many families have dachas where they relax, grow flowers, fruit and vegetables. Most dachas are located not far from the city so people can get there relatively quickly. If your Russian friends have a dacha, they will most likely invite you for a relaxing weekend.

— On Saturday and Sunday I usually go to the theater, to the movies or to exhibitions. Sometimes I go on excursions. Fîr example, last Sun-day I went to the Bolshoi Theater and saw the ballet “Swan Lake”, and next Saturday I am going on an excursion to Novgorod.
