Introduction

Sometimes the best gifts are given AFTER the celebration! The following photos were taken the at the 50th wedding anniversary of dear friends. Though we respected their request not to bring a gift, we were able to give them something unique and personal after the celebration -- a PowerPoint® Photo Album of the event itself. The actual gift version contains many more slides (and corny poetry) than what’s in this sample. I gave it to the celebrants on a CD so they would have a “tangible” version.

Another special-occasion use of PowerPoint shows involves designing a presentation about the celebrant(s) in advance, and then showing it at the event. These have been real hits at special birthday celebrations and retirement parties for my clients. People love looking at their friends and colleagues when they were young (and maybe foolish!). In addition to scanning in old photos, you can scan in diplomas, marriage licenses, birth announcements, awards, etc.
