Meet the board and your neighbors and join us in celebrating BCA’s accomplishments
the past year including the outdoor rink project. Residents will have the opportunity to
provide feedback and provide suggestions for future initiatives we should consider. We
will also present our 2018 Financial Statements and 2019 Budget for approval and
election of open positions on BCA Board of Directors. We will conclude with a short
presentation from our guest speaker, Councillor Sarina Gersher and conclude with an
open forum to give residents an opportunity to raise issues important to them.
Complimentary coffee and
treats will be provided.
BCA Kinder Soccer - Coordinator
Needed!!
As our Youth Activities Coordinator position is currently
vacant, we are looking for volunteers to coordinate Kinder
Soccer this spring. This program is open to children born
in 2015 or 2016 and provides an early introduction to the
sport of soccer. We will not be able to offer this program
without your help. Please contact us at
as soon as possible if you
are interested and we will
provide further
information.
Outdoor Rink Reminder
Just a reminder to residents that as the weather warms up
please watch for notices regarding closure of our outdoor rink
in Briarwood Park. As soon as the ice starts melting we will
need to close the rink as the rink liner will become exposed
and could be damaged. We cannot remove the liner and rink
boards until all ice has melted and ground starts to thaw so
we kindly ask that residents stay off the rink once it is closed.
We will also post signage at the rink advising the same. Thank
you for your assistance and we hope
you enjoyed this venue!!

BCA Board Open Positions
Please see below some additional information for the current open positions on the BCA Board of Directors:
Vice President:
The planned structure of the board is that a person will serve as Vice-President for one year, then President the following year
and finally as Past President for the 3rd year after which that person can choose to leave the board or remain in another capaci-
ty. Currently we have only a Past President who has been in this position since 2014. The main responsibility of this position is to
become familiar with the organization bylaws, fiduciary responsibilities and gain experience in chairing board meetings as well
as providing overall direction to the board. This position would be of interest to someone wanting to acquire or enhance their
management skills while working with a very experienced and engaged Board of Directors.
Youth Activities Coordinator:
In the past BCA offered both kinder and youth soccer (outdoor and indoor). However, due to this position being vacant for some
time we have only offered spring kinder soccer in the past year. Working with other parent volunteers, the responsibilities of
this position include coordinating registration, team assignments and scheduling, coaching recruitment, equipment and uni-
forms. The coordinator also works to establish new activities and programs for youth.
Adult Program Coordinator:
BCA offers a number of indoor fitness programs for adults including Yoga, Sculpt and Stretch, Butts n’ Guts and Tai Chi. We are
in need of a coordinator to be responsible for managing the programs and registration, liaison with instructors, and establishing
new activities and fitness programming of interest to the community.
Director at Large:
The current board structure allows for up to six Directors-at-large. As the title suggests, these members do not have specific
board duties but are available to assist as required. This is an excellent role for residents who want to be involved in board
meetings and decision making but are not able to commit to a specific role.
