He was born Sept. 5, 1907, in Jasper County, a son of Erhar1 and Oll ie Mae Brown Birk. He married Nellie Stanley on April 10, 1925, in Jasper County. She died June 1 S, 1969. He married Vema Whiteley Buse on June 12, 1971. She survives.
Other survivoT!l include three sons, Hobart of Manchester, N.H., Gilbert of Clinton and Jimmie "Pete" of lincoln; four daughters, Eloise Jones of lincoln, Kathelene Lee of Carlsbad, Ca li f.. He was born May 15, 1904. in Sprin.ldield. the son of Berry L. and Nona Jennings Poole. He married Betsy Kirkman May 19, 1925, in Springfield. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Robert L. Poole of Colorado Springs, Co lo .. and thre e daughters, Linda Sue Diers and Carol Schmidt, both of lincoln, and Norma Barnhart of Bloomington; two brothers, Hebert Poole and Norman Poole, both of Springfield; and a sister, Dorothy McCord of Detroit, Mich .
A daughter, three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Mr. Poole ' s remains have been donated to medical science and research . A private memurial service will be held at a later date.
