  • Sister City - Nittenau Located about 20 miles from Regensburg, Germany, Nittenau is a small, rural town in the state of Bavaria.

  • Why visit Nittenau? Lake Zurich has a 14-year International Sister Cities relationship with Nittenau. A dozen Nittenau exchange students have studied at LZHS, and several LZHS students have studied and lived in Nittenau. Lake Zurich students have visited twice and have thoroughly enjoyed the stay there. The students will have an opportunity to stay with a host family and see what daily life is like for a German family. Lake Zurich families have hosted groups from Nittenau twice as well. When trips have been within a year or 2 often times we paired families back up again. The actual home stay will not cost anything extra, though we will have work with EF Tours to travel to Nittenau. This may include a train ticket from Frankfurt to Regensburg and renting a bus from Regensburg to Nittenau and Nittenau to Munich Airport.
