From the Business Car ! !!! W ell, if you haven’t been at the club lately you are missing a lot of things that are happening from one end of the building to the other. As we get settled into the building we are starting to better organize (and yes, the TWMRC CAN be organized) and get shelving and storage set up permanently. Prior to this the place looked very similar to my visit to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 2005. Our move and Katrina have similar looking results: take something beautiful and reduce it down to a pile of wood and junk. !The first helix has been secured to the floor in its correct location and we have been making minor adjustments to the backdrop wall as we start to fill in where the actual tracks will go and what industries will be represented. We have moved the steel mill to the front lower level and in its place we are going to have a representation of Dallas Union Station just before trains to into the helix. The GM assembly plant in Arlington is going to give us quite a bit of operations and be a recognizable site for visitors. Jim will be getting the Flex-C track and steel studs needed for the first section of backdrop wall up to Tower 55. We hope to start putting scenery on this section within a couple of months and have it near completion by the Train Show. !Crews are also installing the new Resource room desk so computers can be set up and the programming track also. Stub walls are being added to the dais by Jim & Co. so that we can route !

electricity to the work tables. Jonas has had his electrician belt on for several days and has sorted out several of the lighting issues and added some convenience outlets to the electrical room. Newcomers Mark and David Wood have been removing track from the remaining sections that will not be used and several people have been cleaning track and switches to save us hundreds of $$. Great work guys! !By the time you read this the Spaghetti dinner will be digested, but I hope you enjoyed the meal and the get together!

!See you at the business meeting, Darrell Cowles CEO 2

The CFO Flyer ! Howdy folks, Dues, donations, kitchen, raffles. Thanks for keeping your dues and donation payments current.  We are solvent as a result.  The snacks and drinks continue to

provide a good source for your donations, and the monthly business meeting raffles are doing very well.  Very soon we’ll be selling cars and memorabilia to boost our funds.

If you don’t remember where you are with dues and donation payments, send me a note I’ll send you the status. Happy Rails,Mike Corley !4

Spring Time Garden Railroading ! I visited a Garden Railroad at Clark Gardens, Mineral Wells, TX over last weekend. The gardens are beautiful in there own right, but hey with model trains its even Better! !!

I’d recommend this spot for anyone looking to see some flowers, waterfalls, sculpture, & to view the great layout on the grounds. The train shed has lots of historical photo’s too. Chris Galvin 7
