Brothers,

On 2/27 we have the one and only fundraiser for the Council for the year. The 47th Annual Crab feed is a success because of the support of

our entire membership. PGK Tim Tuttle is working hard at selling tickets and coordinating as “Head Crab”. I’m actively working on the

server schedule and other responsibilities as “Jr. Crab”. On the weekend of 2/13-14, and 2/20-21, we will be selling tickets in the vestibule of both SES and ST. A. after each mass. Please contact Tim

if you can help sell tickets at the mass you regularly attend. The Silent Auction is headed by Bro. Robert Federighi. His team of volunteers

needs help in asking friends, family, and business contacts for donations (see donation letter attached). Thanks in advance to all the brothers who always step up to make this event a success. Please

come to the business meeting on 2/11 as we finalize our sign-up sheets. For all the committee chairs, please contact Tim and me by

email for our final planning session at the officers meeting this Thursday 2/4. I pray that our efforts will result is continued support

for local charities in need!

Please note that we are back on our regular schedule for meetings: 7pm officer’s meeting on the 1st Thursday of the month; 7pm for the

business meeting on the 2nd Thursday of the month – dinner served,

then meeting begins no later than 7:45.

February will be a very busy month. This weekend, February 6th, eight

of the 11 brothers from our district will become 4th degree Knights! I look forward to witnessing their ceremony in Rohnert Park. Please

mark your calendar as we begin the Lenten Season with Ash Wednesday 2/10. Last Wed, Fr. Lawrence D’Anjou requested our Council to sign up for the “40 days for Life” campaign”. For details,

contact our Pro-life chairman, PGK Lou Santero or visit this website:

40daysforLife.com/San Ramon or [email protected]

On deck for March is a number of important events: the final membership drive for the Columbian year, the Annual St. Patrick’s Day event, and Holy Week comes early this year: Palm Sunday is 3/20, the

Triduum 3/24-26, and Easter Sunday on 3/27. Please be ready to sign

up for our heavy involvement during these events and high holy days!

(Continued on next page)

Finally, I want to thank everyone for being flexible in January to accommodate Fr. Paul’s Thursday night “Mercy Beyond Borders” Adult formation series. It was great to see so many

Knights attend the sessions. Likewise, major thanks to all those who stepped up to help for the “Arise & Build Pledge Weekend”. Last but not least, thanks to Mark Worrell and all the

volunteers who helped run the Annual Free Throw Competition yesterday at the JP2 gym. A few years back, a CCOP winner went all the way to State Championships! I know this is not ideal, but if anyone is able to help Bro. Mark with the District Championships on 2/14 (St.

Isidore gym from 5-7pm) many hands makes for light work!

Thanks in advance to everyone for your hard work at the Crab Feed. May you and your family

be blessed this Lenten Season!

GK Paul Unpingco

With our council now reaching 300 member, it’s becoming harder to identify our Brothers. Even those who of us who remain very active have trouble at times to put

a name to a brothers face. Active or in active we want your photo in our new photo roster.

Email your picture to [email protected] OR attend one of our

Business Meetings on the 2nd Thursday of the month. We hope to have the project completed ASAP so don’t delay; do it today.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN…..

Hello Brothers,

It is membership drive time again. Our next membership

drive is March 5-6. If you have any friends that are considering membership please let me know

and I will contact them. This month would be a great time to

show your Knights of Columbus spirit by wearing your council shirt and/or jacket at Mass. This

months business meeting, Thursday the 11th, is the only

opportunity to pass out a sign-up sheet for volunteers to help

man the vestibule tables. If you wish to help at one of the services on the weekend of

March 5-6, and missed the February business meeting,

please send me an email at [email protected] or call my cell at (925) 202-3576.

Thanks in advance for any help you would like to provide. Also, if

you have any advice as to how we could improve the membership drive event please

let me know.

We should have EIGHT new fourth degree Knights by the

next business meeting. At the time I am writing this I am one week away from the ceremony. I am very excited and motivated. I am sure it will be just as fantastic and

everyone says.

God Bless,

Darren

Our next 1st degree date is Thursday March 17, 2016 @ 7:30 PM in Saint Augustine Hall

rooms 4 & 5

All Brother Knights please pass on this information to any potential Knights, and be there to support them on their 1st Degree exemplification. For those who are interested we will be

holding a brief informational, meet and greet, prior to our February 11 and March 10 general meetings 7:00 to 7:30 PM. Please bring your interested associates for this short

meet and greet.

On February 6th we will be having 8 brothers completing their 4th Degree exemplification

and will now be known as Sir Knight’s. Come to our next Business meeting February 11th

to congratulate and give best wishes to our new Sir Knights..

May God light your path,

SK Jeff Brent

Church.

A small group of Knights are gathering prizes for our Silent Auction which will be held 27 February. I am hoping that in addition to this small solicitation group, our

members will give serious thought to providing prizes as well. Whether you own a business that could supply a product, are a professional that could offer a service,

a member that has a summer home for use, something of value that is just taking up space in your closet or if you're doing business with a firm that may be able to

help us, please know that all donations are welcomed and appreciated.

Last year brother knights personally gave or approached friends who owned businesses who donated prizes which accounted for a very large part of the almost

money raised for charities and ministries. This made a huge affect on our success and I'm optimistic this will happen again but only accompanied with a lot of

prayer.

A solicitation letter is provided for this purpose. MS Word and PDF files for that letter are attached to the email that distributed this Newsletter. Please bring your

donation to the February Officers or Business meeting or call SK Robert Federighi [925-248-2033, [email protected]] for pick up.

Worthy Grand Knights and Brothers !!!

It is my pleasure to share with you the note that comes from home office below !!! We all know as a Grand Knight we are the leader of our council and we must be

proud of the Company we represent !! We need all of you and your confidence as a wonderful Grand Knight to encourage all brothers and their families to contribute to

their own family benefits. When they give to our mutual Company that we all own it is the greatest feeling in our hearts. Many can be proud of saying they give to God

by volunteering their time contributing their money. Those who believe Knights of Columbus are a brotherly love Company that gives them and their family the

opportunity for wonderful Insurance, retirement, disability and Long Term Care benefits. Knowing that when they contribute to the Knights they are guaranteed that

we will never give to helping with same sex marriage, stem cell research or abortion.
