People

The people who are closest to us can have a big influence on the activities we participate in. This in turn can have an influence on our healthy active lifestyle.

Family – some families want their children to have the same opportunities that they had, and so encourage them to participate. Families may favour certain activities.

Friends – friends often wish to participate together and so will adopt similar sporting hobbies.

Peers and role models – those whom we respect, from teachers to sports celebrities, can have an impact on what we want to do with our time.
