Da’wah (invitation) to Ta’if

Group 1. The Prophet,(p.b.u.h)suffered greatly from the increasing abuses

and maltreatment of Quraysh.They even dared to threaten to hurt him in

public.

After the death of his uncle,AbuTalib,who used to support him,the

messenger of Allah(p.b.u.h) ,decided to go out to Taif, seeking Thaqeef

protection from the bad treatment he had suffered from his people in

Makkah.He also hoped to get the help that he needed to proclaim has

call(Dawah)to Islam.

Group 2. In Ta’if the messenger of Allah(p.b.u.h)met three of the city

prominent figures. He called upon them to accept the message of

Allah(swt),and to support him in proclaiming his call to Islam.But they

reacted with mockery and ridicule. And the messenger of Allah(p.b.u.h)was

very sad. Before leaving, he asked not to tell qurash what he had

discussed with them,but they insult the Prophet(p.b.u.h),shout at him and

hit him with stones until his heels were bleeding.

Prophet (pbuh) & His Response

Our Messenger is an Excellent Example of Tolerence and Kindness

When the leader of Ta’if rejected the call of Islam, the Prophet (P.B.U.H) was deeply sadden. So he left with deep distress on the face. The Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H) did not recover until he heard Gabriel (P.B.U.H) saying,”Allah (SWT)has heard your people’s saying to you, and what they have replied back to you. Allah (SWT) hasn’t the Angel of the Mountains to you so that they you may order him to do whatever you wish to these people.” The Prophet (P.B.U.H) said: No, but I hope that Allah (SWT) will let them beget children who will worship Allah (SWT) alone, and who will worship none besides Him.”
