The Organisers The Indian Institute of Packaging is an autonomous and apex body set up by Ministry of Commerce & Industry. Govt. of India and the Industry for promotion of packaging standards in the country in 1966. With Its headquarter and the principal laboratories In Mumbai and other regional o�ces and laborato-ries, the activities of the institute are in line with those of the world’s premiere packaging Institutes.

IIP's activities Includes training, education, research & development, organizing seminars, conference and exhibitions, awards consultancy and projects, laboratory testing, quality evaluation of packing material and packages, information, publication, membership services and many more. The Institute is closely linked with all international organizations concerned with packaging technologies. IIP is the only national Institute representing India at Asian Packaging Federation (APF) and World Packaging Organisation (WPC).

INDIASTAR 2020Objective To encourage improvements and give recognition to Innovative concepts in packaging. INDIASTAR Awards are all about promoting and encouraging excel-lence in packaging design. Innovation and technology. The Award Contest estab-lished in 1972 is �rmly entrenched and most popular & premier event for India's Packaging fraternity.

Eligibility •Open to all packages design, developed, manufactured In India and in commer-cial use in India/ Abroad. Manufacture, Converter, designer or the user of such packages can nominate the entries.

•Entries under Student Category must be submitted from the students of the Institutions in India of current academic year. The permission for entry must be endorsed by the Institutes head.

•The entry may not have been submitted for consideration in the earlier contest.

Categories of Entry (a) Consumer Package (b) Transport Package (c) Packaging Material & Adjunct (d) Food Package (e)Pharmaceutical Package (f ) Ecofriendly Package (g) Student Category (Prototype packages developed by the students).

Criteria for SelectionThe Entries submitted will be judged based on:•Originality of design • Visual appeal • Cost e�ectiveness & over-all packaging economics • Eco-friendliness•Convenience to users, retailers, consumers etc. Statement A factual, technical and detailed statement limited to 300 words, covering the points in 'Criteria for Selection' should be submitted on company letterhead and also in soft copy (MS Word format] along with the entry.

Jury Panel The panel will consist of eminent persons in academics, research, government and experts in related areas. The deci-sion of the Jury will be �nal and binding on all the entrants.

Entry Procedure:Each entry should consist of completed entry form, statement on company letter-head, entry fee, photos and soft copies of pictures & statement in CD (only digital images (max2-3) in JPG (300dpi) showing a good representa-tion of package, features and marked with name, package and company), one �lled and two empty samples of the entry (�lled envy could be collect-ed back if required).Special Recognition by Introduction of "Save Food Initiative":

The entry for 'Save Food Initiative" must �rst qualify as a winner of INDIASTAR Award. Evaluation of the entry will be done by Jury members

sible for any disputes on design/development/ownership rights of any entry, etc.(b) In the event that more than one organization is involved in the design/development of an entry, the

obtained on extra cost.(d) The Indiastar Award is given for the package only. The

Eligibility:a) The entry should be fully designed, developed and produced in India with indigenous know-how.b) The entrant must have the title, all the rights of the entry. IIP or the Panel of Jury cannot be held

responsible for any dispute on design / development ownership/ rights of the entry.

Categories of Entry:Open to all types of machinery manufactured in India for use in packaging operations as listed below:a) Packaging Conversion Machinery: Container / bottle / box making, laminating, coating machines,

thermoforming etc.b) Packaging Machinery: Machines for package/ product �lling-sealing, forming etc.

c) Other Packaging Machinery Covering on-line multiple operations such as package erection, �lling, closing, collat-ing, bulk packaging unitising, palletising etc.

d) Supporting Packaging Machinery : Capping, Closing, Labelling, Overprinting, Strap-ping, Sealing, Package testing, quality evaluation etc.

Jury Panel:The panel will consist of specialist from academics, technical bodies and industry on aspects of design, development, production and performance of machinery.

Statement:A factual, technical and detailed statement limited to 300 words on company letterhead, and also in soft copy (MS Word format) covering the special features, speci�cs of design, developments, innova-tions. use, advantages and e�ectiveness is to be submitted. Cost competitiveness, function versatility. National / International Certi�cation, domestic and export market value, environmental friendliness. Names of some of the users of the entry are to be furnished.

Entry Procedure:Each entry should consist of Completed entry-form, Statement, Entry-fee, Soft copies of pictures & Statement in CD (Only digital images (max.2-3) in JPG (300dpi) showing a good representation of machine, features marked with name of the entry & company name) or a presentation in a CD or email of maximum 5 minute duration showing working of the machine. The presentation should bring out the functional aspects of the entry very dearly.
