Sir,

I am directed to refer to this office letter of even no. dated 10.11.2010 & 22.11.2010 and toforward herewith SBI, New Delhi letter no. NDMB/C&I/INST/2010-11 dated 29.11.2010 which is insupersession to their letter dated 25.11.2010 (already circulated) advising their branches as identifiedby you, to collect contributions through conventional challans while other branches in these regionswould collect only system generated Challans. They have now in their letter dated 29.11.2010specified that all the branches (other than those identified for collection through conventionalChallans) in the regions concerned will accept system generated Challans only and have endorsed thesame to all their branches concerned.

It is also informed that SBI has incorporated a new screen in their core banking systemexclusively for collection of contributions through system generated Challans. This would be availablein all the branches of the SBI and has been broadcasted, as understood from the SBI authorities inDelhi. This is known as 'CBS screen no.7127'_ In fact we have also requested Wipro to incorporate thesame in the system generated Challans.

It is requested that the contents of the SBI letter enclosed herewith may be taken up with theSBI branches in your region through the link branch for quick and effective action on their part. Forthis purpose, a specimen letter is also sent herewith which may be modified as required.

It has been requested by the ESIC that Conventional (Manual) Challan should beaccepted for receipts of their payments of contribution etc. through your branch onlyand all other branches located in ten regions of ESIC (New Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore,Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab & the restof Kamataka will only accept system generated challans.The Competent Authority has acceded to the request of ESIC. We, therefore, adviseyou that your branch will accept only Conventional (Mannual) Challan. from26.11.2010 and all other branches located in ten regions of ESiC (New Delhi,Kolkata.Bangalore, Maharashtra, Gujrat, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana,Punjab & the rest of Kamataka will only accept system generated challans.The mode of acceptance and credit of conventional is as per the existing procedureand the credit shall be afforded to their regional offices ESIC Alc No I and challansetc are to be given to the respective offices while furnishing the bank statements. Suchcredits will go to their respective ESIC Alc No I.In respect of system generated challans, we have launched a product specially foracceptance and remittance amounts paid by the employers through system generatedchallans. Once the particulars are keyed into the system, the amount willautomatically be credited to the pool account maintained at Delhi and we will furnishthe statement of credit at ESIC Hqrs in the form of flat file.ESIC (Account No. 11084231257 mentioned in our letter dated 25.11.2010 standsmodified to this extent.)

As a part of this project, the employersregistered with ESIC are now supposed to deposit the monthly ESIcontribution through system generated challans only. For this purpose, yourCommercial and Institutional Division i.e. Main Branch, Sansad Marg, NewDelhi has already issued direction vide their letter No.__________ dated (copy enclosed for ready reference)whereby only (no.) branches shown at SI. No(s). of the letter,are authorised to accept the manual challans.
