    1. Introducing KoreaSouth Korea, officially the Republic of Korea, is a democratic nation located on the southern half of the Korean Peninsula in East Asia. China sits to the northwest, Japan to the east across the Korea Strait, and North Korea (officially the Democratic People's Republic of Korea) borders to the north. The capital city of Korea is Seoul. Korea has achieved rapid economic growth after enduring devastating disasters, such as the Korean War in the 1950s, and is often referred to as the Miracle on the Han River. As of 2014, Korea is the worlds 13th largest economy in terms of real GDP. Geographically, East Asia consists of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), the People's Republic of China (PRC), Japan, Mongolia, Republic of Korea, and Russia. The DPRK refers to South Korea as Nam-Joseon (), while South Korea refers to North Korea as simply Buk-han (). In order to be differentiated from the DPRK terminology of (Buk-han () versus Buk-Joseon ()), people in South Korea call themselves Nam-han (). South Koreans also call themselves Han-guk (), short for Dae-han-min-guk (). Korea has a population of approximately 50 million and a total land area of 99,702.

    2. Introduction to Busan1) Location

Busan is located on the southeastern tip of the Korean Peninsula. The city is located in South Gyeongsang province and faces the Korea Strait to the south. It borders Ulsan metropolitan city and Yangsan city to the north and Gimhae city to the west. Among the cities located on a similar latitude to Busan are Tokyo in Japan, Zhongshan in China, Algiers in Algeria, and Oklahoma city in the US. Busan shares a similar longitude with Verkhoyansk in Siberia, Nagasaki in Japan, and Darwin in Australia.

    2) History

Busan managed to make rapid and impressive strides since the port of Busan became an international port in 1876. 1905 marks the year that the Gyeongbu railway line was built, prompting the construction of piers and harbors in the city. Busan grew to become a local capital city, as the provincial government of Gyeongnam Province was moved to Busan in 1925. In 1950, the city also served as a temporary capital of Korea running overall operations for the country during the Korean War. In 1963, Busan became a home rule city directly governed (Jikhalshi), leading Korea's economic development up through the 1970s and was elevated to Busan Metropolitan City (Gwangyeokshi) in 1995 along with the expansion of the municipal area.Busan is Korea's leading port and a world-class city of culture and tourism that hosts a wide variety of events and festivals, such as the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) the Busan Biennale, and the Busan Fireworks Festival.

    Korea and Life in Korea

Finally, whether Busan or Pusan, it is still the same amazing city. For many years in the past, Busan was spelled with a P, and that is why PNU-with its rich history and tradition-continues to use this old school reference.

    3) Facts

    a. Size: 765.64 (0.8% of national territory)b. Administrative divisions: 15 districts (:gu), 1 county (:goon), and 216 sub-districts

    (:dong),c. Population: 3,517,898 (2015.1)

    4) Climate

Busan boasts a temperate climate with four distinct seasons in part due to its located on the southeastern tip of the Korean Peninsula to the east of the Eurasia continent and under the influence of East Asia's weather currents. The city's yearly average temperature is 15 with an annual precipitation of 1,176 mm. Busan has relatively strong winds compared to other regions of Korea.
