Global Sisters: Making Business Possible Global Sisters is about making business possible for women who are excluded from mainstream employment

due to their circumstances. We work to address practical, structural and systemic barriers to women’s

economic participation. Our strategic focus is on sole parents and older women, as these groups need

flexible, decent work that fits in with their circumstances and empowers them socially and economically.

Global Sisters exists to support women into self-employment and in doing so to create social value and a

better future for the woman, her family and community. We work collaboratively with partners in locations

around Australia to collectively achieve transformational change for individuals and communities and realise

Over the next 5 years we will have:

a national presence through Regional Clusters, supporting up to 60 communities across Australia

commenced operating internationally in 2 locations where there is a clear need and supportive environment

affected changes to Australia's 'Employment Support Services' to provide structured and effective supports

for women to seek self-employment/ business as an alternative to mainstream employment

a 3 year runway of committed funding from diversified sources of which 50% is covered by commercial

and/or passive income streamscreated a movement that has a vibrant and inclusive women's business

community at its core.

Selection Criteria

This managerial level position is a unique and diverse role that is critical to leading and delivering impact in a

region of Brisbane and surrounds. Reporting to the Head of Programs and working closely with the (dispersed,

remote) Sister Support Team and HQ Team (including Social Impact), the Accelerator Lead will continue to

develop area strategy and partnerships, pilot new/ adapted programs and implement existing programs with

our ecosystem of place partners and Sisters.

The Accelerator Lead will recruit, on-board and manage 1-2 Community Ambassadors.

Position Summary and Relationships

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

Essential

Extensive experience in multi-sector

collaboration, relationship development and

partnership building

Demonstrated experience in group facilitation

and community building

Strong business/ enterprise acumen

Proficient with technology for communications

and enabling business

Excellent planning and communication skills.

BEHAVIOURAL EXPERIENCE

Proven commitment to women’s socio-

economic empowerment

Demonstrated success in working remotely and

autonomously

Enthusiastic, passionate and positive - seeing

and creating opportunities is second nature to

you

Driven & autonomous - can work effectively in

a dispersed team and take the role and make

it happen!

Desirable

CRM/ DRM database skills

Social impact/ monitoring & evaluation

knowledge and expertise.

Proven commitment to Global Sisters values and behavioural competencies

Undertake a police check prior to commencement

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Regularly travel within the Brisbane Regional Hub area, both within and outside of Brisbane

Travel to occasional team meetings interstate.
