Mathematics is a life skill…• Pupils should talk about their work in mathematics

• Pupils need everyday situations…pencil and paper not needed e.g. when shopping, in the car or cooking

• provide opportunities to:

– tell the time– use money– weigh objects– read scales– practise times tables– ask questions– solve problems
