城市学院目前在校生共 1 万 5 千人左右

城市学院本科每年共招生: 2200人

城市学院专科每年共招生: 1500人

•《希望英语》系列教材在我校已经使用四年时间。在这四年期间,希望英语系列教材以其丰富的内容,新颖的形式,活泼生动的文章,深受老师,学生的喜爱。成为我校专科各专业英语教育中较权威的系列教材。

•同时,《希望英语》系列教材为专科各专业学生通过湖北省英语能力应用等级考试(简称英语三级考试)提供了相当全面,细致的辅导。使我校专科学生三级考试通过率一直处于较高水平。据统计,我校每年英语三级通过率保持在 80%以上(第二,三学期累计),个别专业或班级可达到 90%。

《希望英语》教材使用感受•1.综合教程(学生用书)•1 )话题时代性,趣味性强,贴近学生生活。例如大学生活( college life),体育( sports), 音乐( music),旅游( travel),宠物( pets)等等。

•2 )任务型设计•所有的活动围绕任务展开,各种任务通过听,说,阅读,语法,应用文写作让学生习得语言,学生能积极参与,有成就感。

•3 )教材起点符合学生的水平• 高职学生基础较差,很多学生没有掌握高中阶段的英语知识。该教材的词汇、语法、句子成分,都定位于高中水平,这就使学生的英语基础与教材之间有了有效的衔接,使学生能够学得下去,不会有畏难情绪。

•4 )活动设计很有启发性,也给老师留下了自由发挥的空间。

•如 role play, presentation, language points 等等。

•2.教师用书•将学生课本、教学指导、教案与答案融为一体,采用与学生用书对照排版的形式,减轻了老师的负担,为教学提供方便。

•3.学习卡•活页形式,为学生提供练习题和学习方法指导。“学习策略卡”有效地指导学生如何学习。

•4.自学光盘、助教光盘•提供丰富资源,满足多媒体教学需求。
