DISTRIBUTION & CIRCULATION 2DISTRIBUTION OF AUTOCAD & INVENTOR MAGAZINIn addition to paid subscriptions, a strategic distributor and issue sales, we distribute our magazine primarily at events.

Now, you might think that a great many are thrown away: That is true, but even from the magazines we send out, only one or two in seven are actually read on average (source: Zenith Media study). In addition, people at events, seminars and fairs are in a high-involvement situation at that moment in time, which makes them receptive.

The ratio of readers to issues distributed is thus similar to classic issue sales, and this is also confirmed by our subscription figures, which have been stab-le for years – even in a market in which reading habits are rapidly changing.

We are facing this change, as our magazines are available at the WIN kiosk as an ePaper app and in the form of an e-journal from Lufthansa, its Star Alli-ance partners and around 50 top hotels (more details on the next page). The number of units distributed in this manner is constantly growing, and we are now looking at distribution of approximately 500 issues per month (around 15,000 per year) – a rising trend.

We are constantly working on optimising our magazines and content distri-bution, which, in an increasingly digital world, is a permanent challenge that we have faced very successfully so far. To “carry on” is not an option for us; we like to see digital transformation as an opportunity.

A good example of this is our Xing portals, with which we gain new followers each day. Our title, AUTOCAD & Inventor Magazin, is already seen by over 12,400 (!) followers, and across all publications we are already reaching out to over 55,000 followers who not only read our articles, but also read the display adverts and the connected online advertorial.

3-LSUMMARY OF THE SURVEY METHOD FOR ONLINE SURVEY

1 SURVEY METHOD:Online survey of our magazine readers. The questionnaire was available exclusively on the homepage of AUTOCAD & Inventor Magazin. The online survey tool „2ask“ was used to perform and assess the survey.

2 DESCRIPTION OF THE READERSHIP AT THE TIME OF DATA COLLECTION:

Participants in the online survey had to assure us that they are readers of AUTOCAD & Inventor Magazin, a negative response resulted in the survey being aborted. Multiple registrations using the same e-mail address were not possible.

3 DESCRIPTION OF THE SURVEY:

3.1 UNIVERSE:The population for the current survey can be considered to be all Ger-man-speaking people who are readers of AUTOCAD & Inventor Magazin and had the opportunity to visit the website and complete the questi-onnaire.

3.2 TIMING OF THE SURVEY:The survey is being conducted between 6/1/17 and 8/31/18. The first results were drawn on 9/15/17.

3.3 DESCRIPTION OF THE SAMPLE:Readers of the magazine were invited to participate in the survey over a invitation in the magazine editorial. Visitors to the website made aware of the possibility of taking part in the reader survey over banners and articles. Recipients of the AUTOCAD & Inventor Newsletter were also informed of the possibility of taking part. Multiple registrations using the same e-mail address were not possible. So far, 286 people have participated in the survey.

3.4 TARGET AUDIENCE FOR THE SURVEY:Visitors to the DAUTOCAD & Inventor Magazin website were surveyed who are also readers of AUTOCAD & Inventor Magazin.

3.5 DEFINITION OF THE READER: BGR of AUTOCAD & Inventor Magazin

3.6 CONDUCTION OF THE SURVEY: The survey was conducted in-house by WIN-Verlag with the help of the online survey software „2ask“ from Amundis Communications GmbH and owing to the low level of exploitation of the sample it does not corres-pond to the ZAW framework for advertising media analyzes in the current version.
