Travel Signature Days

Every F-1 and J-1 student must have a valid travel signature on their I-20 or DS-2019 in order to

re-enter the United States after traveling outside. These travel signatures are usually valid for 1

year while you are a full-time student, though we recommend getting your I-20 or DS2019

signed every 6 months. Usually, travel signature requests take 5-7 business days. On our

special travel signature days, however, we will sign the I-20 or DS-2019 on the

spot. You can view the schedule here: https://www.albany.edu/isss/assets/Fall_2019.pdf .

We recommend that every student attend one of these days, even if you don't have travel

plans yet.

Students Needed for Focus Group

I am Professor of Sociology at the University at Albany, looking for volunteers to participate in a

focus group on the needs and experiences of Asian international students at UAlbany. We're

happy to provide pizza for lunch and participants will be entered to win a $50 Amazon giftcard in

our raffle.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me forward this email to the relevant student

populations. Any international student from mainland China, India, Korea, Japan or Taiwan at

least 18 years of age enrolled at the University at Albany is qualified to participate in the study.

This includes transfer students, study abroad exchange students, undergraduates and graduate

students. I am also attaching an informational handout which contains more detailed information

and a recruitment flyer for posting.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about the research.

Many thanks for your help!
