contravention of the regulations you can expect a fine of up to £20,000 or a jail sentence of up to one year in a
magistrates court, or both. Crown court fine. Unlimited. Jail up to 2 years

Climbing onto vehicles and trailers should be kept to a minimum. If it cannot be avoided the following guidance should be adhered to.
• When using the steps make sure that the handholds are also used which will make sure that the three points of contact are maintained
• A minimum distance of 1 metre should be kept from any exposed edge to avoid falling
• None slip safety shoes must be worn• Do not pull a pallet truck to the edge of the vehicle or
onto the tail-lift, push it so that you can see where the edge is and you do not fall

The highway code gives information under Penalties as follows:
Offence: Failing to stop after an accident or failing to report an accident
Penalty: 6 months imprisonment or a £5,000 fine
Disqualification: Discretionary

Inspection of load
The last job to do is to inspect the load for transport. You are the last person to say yes or no as you will have final responsibility as the load is in your care and on your vehicle
If VOSA or the Police stop you for any reason YOU will take the blame for any problems
