    The Board of Supervisors finds

    and declares that it is in thepublic interest to officiallyrecognize walking as animportant component of ourtransportation system, and as akey component to creatinglivable and suitablecommunities.

    Therefore the Board of Supervisors established thePedestrian Safety AdvisoryCommittee. This AdvisoryCommittee, composed of concerned and informedresidents, will provide a sourceof expertise on issuesconcerning pedestrian safety,convenience, ambiance, andplanning.

    Dear Mayor Ed Lee,

    The leadership of the San Francisco Pedestrian Safety AdvisoryCommittee requests a meeting with the Mayors Office regardingthe Pedestrian Strategy and 2030 Transportation Task Force.

    According to the Monitoring and Accountability section of theMayors Pedestrian Strategy, the Mayors Office should update PSAC2+ times per year commencing in approximately one month.

    According to Supervisor London Breed, PSAC is a critical element ofSan Franc iscos transportation efforts. Seeking to improvecoordination and communication, PSAC would appreciate theMayors Office establishing a regular liaison to our Committee. PSAChopes to establish a collaborative relationship with the MayorsOffice and would truly appreciate a response.

    Serving as the official public representative to the Board ofSupervisors on pedestrian issues, PSAC is composed of concernedand informed residents providing insight into issues concerningpedestrian safety, convenience, ambiance, and planning. Please let usknow if you have any questions, and we look forward to your reply.
