riot actThis brand new devised show will give a platform to the voices that we rarely hear. Join us as a group of everyday Lutonians take over the council chamber. If you’re usually part of decision making, sit down. It’s not your turn.

people power passionIn 1919, as the Town Hall burned, pianos were stolen and the rioters danced and sung whilst illuminated by flames.  Meet us at the Town Hall exactly 100 years after the riots: put on your dancing shoes and warm up your singing voice, there will be more than just pianos.

In 1919, 39 people were arrested for standing up for themselves. They were all working class poor. In 2019 we join local young people on a journey through Luton as they ask us: has anything changed?

the children’s peace partyFor one day in September, children will take over Wardown Park. Come along to this event for the whole family and let the children run riot for a day. Circus, theatre, art and games will make it a day to remember.

lutopiaHelp us imagine what would make a utopian Luton then join your friends in a giant live public play of Lutopia; the virtual reality video game in which you explore an alternate reality version of Luton, made with and for Lutonians.

In 1919, Lutonians famously burnt the Town Hall down. In 2019, we’re looking back on this bold act. Six ambitious events over five months will bringLuton’s cultures and communities together to celebrate our vibrant town.

People Power Passion is by Luton and for Luton, inspired by a local act of people power that resonated across the world. 

in 2019 we’re setting Luton alight.
