Announcements/Guests:

When ANYONE comes over the intercom your are to cease all talking!

I need to be able to hear what is being said and you probably do as well.

It is not your job to speak to whom ever is on the intercom, just remain quiet.

I will give the class one warning about announcements and then you will be issued a detention.

Classroom Instruction Procedures:

Instructional Time: During instructional time you should be paying full attention

and taking notes. You will be receiving the majority of the lessons information during this time. I expect everyone to be looking forward and giving me their undivided attention. TAKE NOTES!

If you are not paying attention you might miss important information. You will be utilizing the information I am giving you to do group projects, work independently, for quizzes, for testing, and for major projects.

Talking: There is NO talking while I am talking! If you talk while I am talking you will miss important information which might help you PASS this class.

BE ON TASK: You must be on task at all times. Class time is very important. If you miss an assignment you will be behind. If you are behind you might FAIL. MAKE THE CONNECTION! (Sleeping, talking, drawing, laughing, passing notes, and grooming are all considered being off tasks!)

Participation: If you are on my roster you are considered an

active participant in this classroom. Participating is not an option, it is a requirement. I call on students often and randomly. I believe in respectful open discussion amongst

students. Which means listening to your classmates and respectfully responding to their ideas and comments.

Procedures during Small Group Work:

Group Work: I will put you into groups. I will let you know when it is okay to move to your

groups. I will dismiss you group by group. Please wait for me to dismiss you before you move to

your groups. If your group talks excessively or misbehaves, I will

penalize the group by subtracting points, and I will penalize the individuals by giving detentions.

Remember, everyone works with people they don’t like. Be an adult and not a child and DON’T COMPLAIN!

Late Policy Class work, handouts, and small assignments will

be accepted within 24 hours of the due date for half credit, after the 24 hours it will count for a 0.

complete a missing assignment form in order for it to be accepted late. You will lose 10% of your grade each day until the grade equals a 0.

Absences: If you are absent it is your responsibility to get the work that

you have missed. If you are absent or tardy, you are responsible for the work you

missed. Being absent or tardy DOES NOT excuse you from completing

work in my class. Being out of the room does not excuse you from completing

work in my class. If you are absent all of the assignments you missed will be in a

file box. Look for the date you missed and collect the items you need. If a PowerPoint was covered you must get the notes from one of your classmates, or copy them from me at lunch or after school. Depending on your absences and whether it is excused or not will determine how long you have to make up the assignment.
