The reader’s Theater format offers a way for readers to participate in repeated readings in a meaningful and purposeful context.

* Children read aloud from a script using their voices
and facial expressions to share the story.

using expressiveness, intonation when rehearsing the

son, and I will walk alongside.
S: Yes, father.
FM: That is a disgrace! A real disgrace!
M: What are you talking about, old man?
FM: As I have always said, there is no respect shown to old age these
days.

SM: You two should be ashamed of yourselves!
M: What do you mean, old man!

you two sit upon him with smiling faces. You both look so much
stronger than your donkey that I should think it would be easier
for you to carry him.
M: Thank you for your advice, old man.
N: The miller and his son get off the donkey and carry him. After a
while, the donkey becomes so heavy that they accidentally drop
him in the river.
S: Oh dear! Look what has happened to our donkey!
M: Poor me! Poor me! Yes, we have lost our donkey!
Moral: You can’t please Moral: You can’t please everybody. everybody.
