On the occasion of Music China 2015, I would like to extend sincere greetings to all
the exhibitors and visitors.
Coming from a centenary tradition of innovation and craftsmanship, musical
instruments Made in Italy are famous worldwide for the advanced technology,
unique design and excellent quality. Their outstanding performance brings
wonderful sonic experiences to the most demanding professionals and high-level
learners as well.
Today the Italian craftsmen inherit the know-how brought forth by generations of
musical instrument makers of Renaissance. With their devotion and passion, they
combine tradition with constant innovation and lead the works of art to perfection.

Andrea Schudtz is a violin Maker In Cremona. He took his first steps in the art
of violin with his Father Pavel Schudtz. He is graduated in IPIALL in 1995.His
instruments are made following the classical models of the Cremonese School,
such as Stradivari, Guarneri and Amati with a personal touch. His varnish is very
thin and elastic and the choice of the wood is excellent. These qualities make
his instruments very successful with musicians all over the world. He builds and
repairs violins, violas and cellos; he also restores all stringed instruments and their
bows and, under request, he also makes
copies of antique instruments. Many
famous players use his instrument in all
over the world.
The sound of instruments is rich, powerful
and nice tune.

Fabio Bonardi is an Italian luthier specialized in plucked instrument construction
and restoration.
He graduated in 2007 from Civica Scuola di Liuteria in Milan as plucked

Lorenzo Lippi, Tiziano Rizzi and Gabriele Negri.
He builds steel strings guitars taking inspiration from the American historical
models like Martin. Each instrument
is unique and built according to the
techniques of the ancient philological
tradition of lutherie.
He restores philologically Italian mandolins
like Embergher, Vinaccia, Calace and

The Consortium of Violinmakers “Antonio Stradivari” Cremona has around 60
members who are Master Violinmakers from Cremona and the surrounding area.
In cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce of Cremona and Associations of
Handcraft, the Consortium created the trademark of authenticity and origin “Cremona
Liuteria®”. This registered trademark guarantees that every certified instrument has
been handcrafted by a professional Master Violinmaker in Cremona.
The objective of this trademark is to protect against copies and to create a
transparent market. The showroom displays instruments, accessories and literature.

His guitars are built in the style of the 20° century great makers. The study and
analysis of the Antonio De Torres , Manuel Ramirez , Enrique Garcia and Hermann
Hauser guitars led him to build guitars with a very similar sound quality to the
originals coupled to modern performance level for contemporary musical use. He
exclusively uses well air-seasoned and carefully selected precious woods and all his
guitars are rigorously finished with French polish.
He built 10-12 guitars for year.

Fabrizio Di Pietrantonio 于1964年出生于意大利里窝那，就读佛罗伦萨美术学院。

Fabrizio Di Pietrantonio was born in Livorno in 1964 and attended the Accademia
di Belle Arti in Florence. At a later date, he became involved in violin-making, and
in 1990 became a pupil of Roberto Ignesti, with whom he recovered a substantial
part of the models, moulds and tools belonging to the Igino Sderci’s laboratory.
Thanks to this and to his apprenticeship with Sderci’s pupil, he fallowed the
tradition started in Milan by the Bisiach family and subsequently transferred to
Florence with Carlo Bisiach and Igino Sderci.
He has recently published a monograph on his teacher Igino Sderci.

Erich Perrotta is an Italian bowmaker, who established his workshop in Verona,
close to the Arena, in 2001. After his apprentice with the bowmaker Claudio
Righetti, the inventor of the carbon fiber bows, he had the chance to work with
musicians of international renown and important ancient and modern instruments,
especially bows of Francois Xavier Tourte, Nicolas Maire, Eugene Sartory, Peccatte
and Fetique’s family, Benoit Rolland.
Actually he builds in his workshop completely by himself and using the best
materials about 25 bows one year, both in wood and carbon fiber, following the
best French tradition in bowmaking.

Fernando Salvatore Lima was born in 1962. His perseverance allowed him to seize
the essence of the great Italian masters’ crafting art, especially the Cremonese ones.
His determination to achieve a sound similar to that of Guarneri del Gesù, enabled
him to build excellent sounding instruments, which are greatly appreciated by
accomplished musicians throughout the world.
Today he crafts copies of Stradivari and Guarneri del Gesù instruments, in his
workshop in Cremona, following the great masters’ traditional crafting methods.
He works with passion and dedication in order to make the highest quality
instruments with the finest sound and exquisite beauty.

Lorenzo Lippi is a luthier specialized in the construction of plucked instruments,

contemporary use.
Teacher at the Lutherie School in Milan for over thirty years, he has an intense

More than 40 years of experience! The story of Maestro Giovanni Lucchi started
in 1971, when, he decided to replace the horsehair on his double bass bow
by himself. Curiousity, skill and passion soon turned him into a professional
bowmaker. In 1976 he was called by the institutions of Cremona to found the
Italian School for Bowmaking. He taught
there for 35 years and he divided his time
between the school and his workshop.
His passion for research pushed him to
reach a great technological result: the
LucchiMeter, the tester that measures the
acoustic properties of wood. Among his
customers, many great musicians as his
friend Maestro Mstslav Rostropovich. After
his death, in 2012, his sons carry on his
work, with his same philosophy, passion
and research for the finest quality.

The company Marco Magi has become a new reality in the handicraft landscape of the Marche area.Founded in 1996 by Marco Magi, it produces any model of cases for musical instruments, from the standard types to the more particular ones, satisfying in this way any type of clientele and demand.The Made in Italy style characterizes its products, accurately well finished in all

Matteo Mazzotti manufactures his instruments according to the traditional
technique of the well-know Luthier’s Art of Cremona (mod.Stradivari, Guarneri,
Amati…) and uses the internal mould allowing him to develop his creativity and his
own personal style. A careful choice of seasoned and top-quality materials (fir from
Val di Fiemme, maple from the Balkans) together with the evaluation of each single
instrument in terms of sound performance, and with the masterly polishing (using
oil or mixed paints) developed and prepared by himself personally, all this makes
each instrument of his a “unique” one, characterized by careful manufacture, very
good sound and valuable beauty.

Massimo Negroni graduated at International School of violin making in Cremona "Antonio Stradivari" in 1978, and opened his own wokshop in the center of Cremona. Since 1982 he is a teacher at the International School of violin making in Cremona and responsible of the scientific laboratory: X-ray, endoscopy, Wood's lamp and photography.
David Negroni works with his father in 2011 after getting his diploma at the Art School "G. Munari". The workshop's work Negroni is divided between the construction and restoration of stringed instruments. The works is inspired by the model of A. Stradivari, Guarneri family, Guadagnini e Bergonzi, using quality materials and seasoned , varnish mixed to color amber to red orange reflections.The workshop Negroni has collaborated and worked for musicians of the most important Italian orchestras and other also he worked for museums, foundations and conservatory, also taking master universities from around the world.The talent of David offers the guarantee of the continuity of the workshop Negroni.

study of violin making. I refined my technique and style under the guide of

For violins I prefer shapes inspired by Guarneri “Del Gesù” but for all the other
instruments I developed my personal models.
I devote particular care about the acoustic performance, the tuning calibration and
the playability of my instruments.
In 2013 I won a price for the quality of double bass tone at the ISB convention held
in Rochester (NY)

blend natural resins in our varnishes, following recipes handed down from Master
to apprentice since the sixteenth Century. These peculiar processes let us to make
unique and distinctive instruments, both for aesthetics and acoustics, that are
appreciated worldwide both by students and professionals.

Davide Serracini was born in 1978 in Ciampino, near Rome .
Graduated from the Civica Scuola di Liuteria di Milano, learned from the masters
Lorenzo Lippi, Tiziano Rizzi and Aldo Illotta techniques for the construction of
plucked musical instruments, and the philological method used in the study
and reconstruction of ancient and modern instruments. His guitars are based
on a project that, taking inspiration from the great authors of classics Torres,
Hauser, Romanillos, develops on a personal line of simplicity and elegance. Every
instrument of its production is unique, it doesn’t follow a series production.

Paolo Sorgentone was born on 26th June 1961. When he was 17 years old, he
moved to Cremona attending the International School of Violin Makers where he

Michele Mecatti was born on 7th of January 1964 in Napoli. In 1986 he graduated
at International School of Violin Makers in Cremona ander Maestro Vincenzo
Bissolotti.
In 1988 he moved to France to specialise in restoration with the teachers Pierre
Barthel and Bernard Sabatier and he worked in France until 1997. In 1998 Paolo

Ital ian Trade Agency - ITA is the government organization which promotes the internationalization of the Italian companies, in line with the strategies of the Ministry of Economic Development. ITA provides information, support and advice to Italian and foreign companies, helps to develop, facilitate and promote Italian economic and trade relations with foreign countries, focusing on the needs of SME, their associations and partnerships.ITA operates worldwide from a large network of Trade Promotion Offices linked to Italian embassies and consulates and working closely with local authorities and businesses. ITA provides information, support and consultancy to Italian companies on foreign markets, promoting and fostering export and cooperation in all areas - capital goods, consumer goods and services - with the target of increasing and make more effective their presence on international markets.ITA provides a wide range of services overseas helping Italian and foreign business to connect with each other: identification of possible business partners; bilateral trade meetings with Italian companies, trade delegation visits to Italy; official participation in local fairs and exhibitions; forums and seminars with Italian experts.The Italian Trade Agency - ITA has been in the People’s Republic of China for 50 years with now 5 offices respectively in Beijing, Shanghai, Canton, Hong Kong and Chengdu organizing hundreds of promotional activities every year to enhance the relationship between China and Italy.
