Kobauflex® 315 PP
Technical data
Tape design Material layer: PP non-woven 50 g Material lamination: PP non-woven 30 g Width sealing zone: approx. 70 – 100 mm Width elongation zone: approx. 20 mm Total width: approx. 120 – 150 mm
Data sheet elastomer Polymer sealing zone: EPDM Colour: black Hardness [DIN 53 519 Teil 2]: 55° Sh ± 5° Tensile strength [DIN 53 504]: 9 N/mm² Elongation at break [DIN 53 504]: 400 % Compression set 22h/70°C [VDA 675 217]: 25% Tear growth resistance [VDA 675 211A]: 7 N/mm Ozone resistance [DIN 53 309]: resistant Temperature range: -40°C to + 100°C
Application range / properties Kobauflex® 315 PP is intended for the permanent sealing of construction joints, connecting joints and cracks, in particular for objects with normal and reduced stress in residential buildings. Preferred applications are e.g. kitchens, showers and bathrooms. Kobauflex® 315 PP is tearproof and durable. Due to the basic elastomer EPDM (black) it is characterized by very good chemical resistance, balanced mechanical qualities and excellent ozone and ageing resistance.
Handling The base has to be capable of bearing the load, as dry as possible and free of dust, dirt as well as other components reducing adhesion and loose particles. Chipped spots on edges have to be profiled using appropriate repair systems. Gravel nests and unevenness are to be filled. Separating components, such as cement paste, loose coatings as well as angular grain in the surface are to be removed by means of appropriate measures (e.g. sandblasting, knocking off). Mix the adhesive or mortar provided for the sealing measure in each case according to the manufacturer's instructions observing, if required, maturing periods. Then apply the ready mix by means of a flat bristle brush or radiator brush to the base until saturation. Observe the processing times and/or pot life of the adhesive or mortar! Subsequently place Kobauflex® 315 PP joint sealing tape from the roll wrinkle-free on the wet adhesive bed and press the edge of the substrate on the surface using a spatula or smoothening trowel so that the adhesive/mortar completely penetrates the substrate. For the corner areas, use Kobauflex® sealing corners inside / outside and for pipe penetrations Dichtflex sealing sleeves. Subsequently, apply adhesive/mortar wet in wet as finishing coat until the area of the substrate is completely covered.
Form of delivery Length of roll on request
Tools / embedding materials Flat bristle brush, brush, spatula, smoothening trowel Embedding material according to the manufacturer,
roughness of the base and method
Storage At dry, cold and closed places
Note
Protect Kobauflex® 315 PP.Objektdichtband EPDM (black) from mechanical damage during the building activities. Further work is to be performed as instructed by manufacturer.

Kobauflex® wall and floor drain collars Technical data
Construction Material sealing zone: NBR - rubber Material Layer: PES - fabric Size standard of collars: see below Special prefabricated designs are available
Elastomer data sheet Polymer: NBR - rubber Colour: Grey Hardness [DIN 53 519 Teil 2]: 55° Sh ± 5° Tensile strength [DIN 53 504]: 11 N/mm² Elongation at break [DIN 53 504]: 500 % Compression set 22h/70°C [VDA 675 217]: approx. 25% Ozone resistance [DIN 53 309]: resistance, crack scale 0 Chemical resistance: resistant Temperature resistance: -40°C to + 100°C
Features Kobauflex® wall and floor collars are intended for the durable sealing of pipe and drain penetrations, as well as mounting parts especially for highly stressed critical areas in residential and industrial buildings. Preferred areas of application are e.g. bathroom units, swimming pools and/or canteen kitchens, laboratories and areas of the food processing industry. Kobauflex® wall and floor collars may be prefabricated according customer’s parameters. Or they are made of standard wall or floor sleeves; then they use a punched opening in the middle the diameter of which is always smaller than the pipe diameter. In order to increase the application pressure, there is no substrate in the central zone. Kobauflex® wall and floor collars are resistant to many chemicals as well as to water pressure in compliance with DIN 16726.

The base must be capable of bearing the load, as dry as possible, free from dust, dirt as well as other loose particles and components reducing the adherence. Chipped spots have to be reprofiled using a suitable repair system and any unevenness is to be filled. Separating components, such as cement paste, loose coating as well as angular grain in the surface are to be removed using suitable methods (e.g. sandblasting, knocking off). Mix the adhesive or mortar provided for the respective sealing measure in accordance with the instructions of the manufacturer observing possibly required curing times. Apply one priming coat of the ready mix to the base by means of a brush until saturation. Observe the processing times and/or pot life of the adhesive or mortar! Subsequently, insert Kobauflex® wall and floor collars into the wet adhesive avoiding formation of wrinkles. Press the edge of the substrate by means of a spatula or smoothening trowel so against the surface that the substrate is completely penetrated by the adhesive/mortar
