Lesson Plan Physical Activity: Basic Table Tennis Title of the Lesson: Basic Footwork, Forehand and Backhand Grade Level: College Equipment: Pingpong Racket, Balls, Table, Net Objectives: 1) Identify the basic skills in Table Tennis 2) Combines the basic foorwork with the forehand and backhand skills 3) Execute the skills properly, and with ease Warm-up Activity: Whole body stretch and doing some drills. (done by my other groupmate) Aerobic Activity: Jogging around the gym, while balancing the ball, so it won't fall off the racket. (done by my other groupmate) Introduction to the Lesson: 1) First, asking if someone or how many of them have played or have a background about the sport. 2) Second, telling the brief history of Table Tennis. 3) Orienting them with some of the basic rules in Pingpong, the different types of grip, where is the forehand side and backhand side. Activity Proper: 1) Basic Footwork 2) Basic Forehand 3) Basic Backhand (my report) a) To perform the basic backhand, you must hold the racket with any kind grip you want, and using the backhand side/part of your racket, you will hit the ball back to the opposing court. b) Stance: Your feet shoulder width apart, and the racket hand forming a 90 degree angle. c) Movement: Your lower arm, holding the racket will be moving forward, making a pushing motion, with a minimal movement of your upper arm and your trunk slightly rotating.

Cooldown Activity: Cooldown stretch, starting with the arm stretch, down to the waist, with the left side waist stretch, right side waist stretch, then front stretch, back

stretch and lastly the leg stretching, flexing the parts of your legs.

Wrap-up: The activities are the most important skills that a beginner should know in playing Table Tennis, it is the basic, so it is not that hard to learn. If they want to know more

about Table Tennis, and would like to learn some advance skill, they can always join Table Tennis clinics or enrolling in basic PE courses.
