POVERTY IN THE WORLD

Poverty is a situation or way of life that arises as a

result of the inability to access or lack of resources to meet basic human needs physical and psychological wear that affect the level and quality of life of people , such as food, housing , education , health care or access to potable water. Often also they consider the lack of means to access those resources , such as unemployment , lack of income or a low level thereof. It may also be the result of processes of social exclusion, social segregation or marginalization. In many countries of the third world, poverty is when you can not meet the needs included in the basic food basket.

Definition of poverty

The characteristics of poverty are not always

the same , which is why they can be classified into :

Single : This type of poverty is characterized as continuous . Only affects one is particularly person or family. They are in a situation where it is impossible to access basic needs. This difficulty is due to a mental or physical limitation.

Collective : a person or family is not limited if

not an entire community or a significant number of individuals within it.

Cyclic : reaching large portions of the community but transiently . These difficulties are often due to natural disasters or poor planning in the field of agriculture.

Poverty has consequences in several dimensions. The

most immediate is the harm it causes millions of peo ple in their education , health and culture . From the point of view of society , marginalization leads to de-socialization of people and the creation of conditions conducive to criminal behavior , creates a market for political demagoguery and authoritarianism and , in some areas, for drug trafficking and terrorism. Poverty is , therefore , among the causes of problems of national and hemispheric security. From the economic point of view , poverty puts limits on the expansion of markets and , therefore , of the companies working for them.
