MUSINGS
By Father Lee Chase
Saint Lawrence School
It is my joy to be able to announce
that registra!on for St. Lawrence
School will begin for returning
families on February 1 and for new
families on February 22nd. In the
ves!bule of the Church and on the
cover of this bulle!n is a flyer
adver!sing what we offer.
We offer much! As a Catholic
school, our educa!on here is
founded and grounded in our
Roman Catholic faith. We begin
each school day with prayer.
Many !mes throughout the year,
our students come to morning
Mass and come over to the Church
for prayer services.
We offer a great educa!onal
experience. As a smaller school,
the sense of community and the
knowledge that every student is
known makes for no anonymous
teaching. The teachers know each
student and their needs.
We are constantly in the process of
upda!ng our building and our
programs to make them rigorous,
challenging, and interes!ng. At
the same !me, we know that
students have individual needs.
We go beyond State requirements
to meet the needs of academically
challenged students. We help
them as much as we can.
Our students have a balanced day
of recess, instruc!on, study, and
play. We include art, music,
physical educa!on, and character
development in our curriculum.
We even offer the beginning study
of Spanish for our students.
Pre-Kindergarten
St. Lawrence School offers a
fantas!c Pre-Kindergarten
program. On Tuesday and
Thursday mornings, we will offer a
Pre-K Age 3 program and on
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
mornings, a Pre-K Age 4 program.
The Pre-K is located in the school,
meaning that the students can use
the gymnasium and that the school
nurse, who is full !me, is present
should there be a need. We are
very proud of our Pre-K and this is
a great introduc!on to our school
for the toddlers coming here.
I invite all of you to first pray for St.
Lawrence School. Let us pray for
the students, the families, the
teachers and aids, the staff and
administra!on. Mr. Frank
Arvizzigno, our principal, is a very
energe!c and wonderful man who
is very present to our students and
supports our teachers. We are
blessed to have him.
I ask you to consider St. Lawrence
School if you are looking for a
school for your children. We have
grades Pre-K (age 3 and 4) up to
grade 6. And while we do cap our
class sizes to 25, many of our
grades do have openings. We
invite you to contact the school if
you wish to tour the school or
have any ques!ons. The phone is
225-3870.
And, lastly, I encourage you to let
your neighbors and friends and
family members know about us.
I’ve heard that a lot of people
didn’t know we had a pre-school or
that our school went up to Grade
6. We also have a dedicated
library, a fenced-in playground for
safety, a lunch program where the
students eat together - not in their
classrooms - and a dedicated
Academic Interven!on Services
center.
We also have a full !me nurse, as I
said, and a part !me Student
Advocate who assist with our
children, especially those who
struggle.
And, lastly, I want to thank all of
the parishioners who have
supported and con!nue to support
St. Lawrence School. The parish is
commi6ed to Catholic School
Educa!on and will con!nue in that
support.
If you wish to know more how you
can support our school, even fund
a scholarship or two, let me know.
But most of all, please pray for our
school and for the success of
Catholic educa!on! We need this
now, more than ever, in our world!
May God bless us now and always!

Are you looking for a way to spread God’s Mercy
in this Jubilee Year of Mercy?
St. Lawrence Keeping in Touch could be the answer.
St. Lawrence Church has many parishioners who can no
longer a;end Mass regularly, are homebound, or reside in
assisted living or nursing home facili)es. Members of
St. Lawrence Keeping in Touch reach out to these
parishioners with visits, cards or phone calls, and o4en bring
them Holy Communion. It only takes a li;le of your )me and
will be a blessing to both you and the parishioner you visit.
If you would like:
• to find out more about Keeping in Touch,
• become a Prayer Partner to one or more of these
parishioners,
• OR know someone in need of Keeping in Touch services,
call the rectory at 723 1350 or Chet and Kathy at 392 3147

WHAT IS EUCHARISTIC ADORATION?
Eucharis!c Adora!on is - the Adora)on of Jesus Christ in
the Eucharist. It is a prac!ce of spending an hour in quiet
prayer and reflec!on.
St. Lawrence Church has ini!ated Eucharis!c Adora!on
on the first Monday of each month
9:00am - 6:00pm.
Since Eucharis!c Adora!on involves not leaving the
Sacrament una6ended at any !me during the exposi!on,
there must always be someone in a6endance when Jesus
is present on the altar.
For this reason, we ask parishioners to:
Please sign up for an hour-long )me slot during this )me.
Sign-up sheets are located on the display in the entrance
of church.
(If unable to commit to a permanent slot, please consider
a "sub )me slot")
