The Westminster Abbey

Westminster Abbey for the tourists is a perfect example of Western architecture, a masterpiece of early English Gothic style, the Church with the highest nave in England and the Pantheon, in which you can see the graves of the most famous figures of the UK. But for the British Westminster Abbey has greater significance, for the long years of its existence, it almost became the symbol of the nation, its unity of purpose.

During the last 600 years the coronations take place here, so there are the graves of the most monarchs, who were coronated here. And since the XVII century other famous figures of England are buried here. There are graves of the poets, writers, scientists, actors and politics.

In time of the reformation the building of the Abbey became the school as Oxford and Kembridge.

The building of the parliament

The building of the Parliament is one of the most popular attractions of London. The Parliament of the UK consists of the house of Lords and the house of Commons.

The Palace of Westminster, in which the Parliament is located , is considered one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. He rises his peaked towers on the bank of the river Thames, being the ornament of the city and attracts millions of tourists.

In the Palace, besides the famous towers, there are 1200 rooms, 100 staircases and about 5 km of corridors.

Tourists can only observe the work of the Parliament from public gallery during the meeting or make a couple of photos from the outside.

Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace is one of London's attractions, so this is the official London residence of the Queen of England. The Queen receives state guests here, and official ceremonies and events of the Royal family take place here too.

The Palace is located between the green Park, Hyde Park and St James Park, in the heart of London.

19 state rooms, ball rooms and gardens are open to visitors in August and September, it is time when the Queen leave this place.

In the halls you can see the real treasures of the Royal family. There are pictures and interesting French and English furniture.

Changing of the guard takes place in the summer every day at 11.30 a.m. and several days of winter in the courtyard of the Palace.The ceremony lasts about 45 minutes, every person can see it free.

Big Ben

London tower - the third highest tower with a clock in the world. Its height is 96 meters, and the clock is situated at a height of 55 meters from the ground. Today we don’t known , where came the beginning of the name of the bell big Ben. The London eye

The London Eye - the Ferris wheel, which situated on the bank of the river Thames, and which became one of the symbols of the city and one of the favorite attractions of London. The wheel was launched in March 2000. The London Eye reaches 135 meters in height and weighs 2100 tones.
