HP Impeller Inlet Minor LE nicks and dents observed on several blades in area C <.020" are permitted. One dent near root in area C <.5" in length is permitted. Nick in the LE observed on one blade in area C .013" in depth and .032" in radial length refers to Category 1. Nick in the LE observed on one splitter vane in area C .027" in depth and .095" in radial length refers to Category 1 : Record the size and type of damage found . Do a subsequent borescope inspection after 100 hours, but not later then 200 hours. If the subsequent inspection reveals no change in the condition of the damage from the initial inspection, no more action is required . Ref. AMM 72-00-00 inspection check 1pgs. 14, 15& 16attached.

Combustion Chamber Outer cooling ring observed with several areas of burns, cracks, coating erosion and missing material are permitted. Ref. AMM 72-00-00 inspection check 2 pg. 6 attached.

NGV's Cracks observed on the TE, concave side and inner platforms of many vanes are permitted.

Small holes observed in the LE of four vanes exposing the inner cavity refer to Category C: Serviceable condition with subsequent borescope inspection interval: For engine on ECTM: 600 hours maximum.

For engine not on ECTM: 400 hours maximum. NOTE: For more frequent borescope inspections, it is recommended to do a borescope inspection through the igniter ports instead of the fuel nozzle ports. Ref. AMM 72-00-00 Inspection Check 2 pgs. 14, 16 & 19 attached.

select to use borescope criteria for engine shop repair, the Inspection Interval that follows Is defined in accordance with the damage category of the HP vane segment.

(c) Regardless of the borescope Interval recommended, it is good maintenance pract ice to do a borescope inspection of the combustion chamber, HP turbine vane segments and HP turbine blades during a fuel nozzle change. If subsequent borescope Inspections reveal hot section damage, the fuel nozzle set associated with the damage will not be known If the condition of these components was not checked when you do a fuel nozzle change.

(2) Inspection Criteria

(a) The four categories listed below cover HP vane segment deterioration:
