Soap- A substance used for washing and cleansing purposes

Soaps are water-soluble sodium or potassium salts.

WHAT ARE SOAPS?

WHAT ARE THEY COMPOSED OF?

Soaps are composed of a mixture of fatty acids, natural oils, saturated fats, and alkali.

Fatty acids are delicate acids that are produced from carboxlic acid and a hydrocarbon chain.

The alkalis used to be made by ashes of plants. Now, they are made commercially.

Fats and oils are produced by animal or plant sources.
