WHAT MEMBERS SAY ABOUT ACDINVOLVEMENT

Being part of the ACD has grownmy network by SO MUCH. I nowhave colleagues and friends allover the world that I can turn tofor support and bounce ideas off

of. It has been incredible! Being involved in a NACADA advisingcommunity really inspires and motivates

me. Having the opportunity to connect withother passionate advisors reinvigorates mein my job when I'm feeling discouraged.

When I hear advisors talk about thechallenges they face that mirror mine, Ifeel less alone and connected to a larger

community.

The network of colleagues I havegained, along with the experience ofleading a group of colleagues fromacross the globe, has increased my

understanding of the field of advisingalong with helped me further developskills that now are helping me as I

supervise and support advising staff onour campus. It makes me feel like I am helping to progress

the profession forward while also helping mycolleagues within my advising center understand

my passion for the association. I think it hasbeen one of the most transformative experiencesleading an Advising Community because it gaveme the managerial skills I am not getting in mycurrent position. I think NACADA leadership fillsthe void I have in my position now and I think

helped to fill a hole I have.
