Vera Wang was born on June 27, 1949 She was born in New York, New York. Full name is Vera Ellen Wang. Daughter of Chinese Immigrants. She enjoyed a pampered childhood in
Manhattans Upper East Side.

Ice Skating
As a talented figure skater she competed professionally throughout her teens.
In 1968 & 1969 U.S. National Championships her and her partner James Stuart placed fifth in junior pairs.
After graduating college in 1971, she moved on from ice skating.
Vogue Magazine
After graduating college in 1971 and ending her ice skating career and began working ta Vogue Magazine.
Within a year at age 23 she was promoted to senior editor.
She held that job for 15 years, till she quit and went to go work with Ralph Lauren in 1987.
Fashion Designer: The Beginning
She worked with Ralph Lauren for two years. She finally opened her own company in 1990,
on Madison Avenue, New York. She was
designing bridal wear and evening gowns.
She opened her own star Bridal Salon at the Carlyle Hotel on Madison Avenue in
New York City.
Celebrities In 1992 she designed Winter Olympic costume
for Nancy Kerrigan.
In 1999 she designed Victoria
Beckham’s wedding gown for her marriage to David Beckham.
