Господи, помилуй! Якщо ви успішні, вам радісно на душі і видається, що ні в чому немає потреби, повторюймо: Господи, помилуй! Можливо, сьогодні є той день, коли ми маємо скористатися своїм шансом, піти за Ісусом і кричати в глибині свого серця: Господи, помилуй! Можливо, ми прикуті до лікарняного ліжка, нам важко дихати, нам є непросто, нам встановили діагноз і повідомили про це… Молімося подумки з усіх сил: Господи, помилуй!» – радить владика Степан.

«Або якщо у нас немає часу на ранкову молитву», продовжує він, «нарікаємо на те, що немає часу на молитву, ми не вміємо молитися, скажімо, виходячи з дому: Господи, помилуй!»

«Як важливо нам не втратити шансу бути з Богом, не опустити можливості правильно бачити світ, поєднуючи свій духовний та фізичний зір. Адже бути віруючою людиною означає вміти правильно дивитися на світ. У сьогоднішніх обставинах життя нам потрібно дедалі більше тих, які будуть правильно дивитися на світ і своїми вчинками робити його добрішим», – переконує проповідник.

Владика Степан закликає просити в Бога в цій короткій молитві «Господи, помилуй», щоб ми цінували кожен день життя, людей, які нас оточують, можливості, які дарує нам Бог. «Не втрачаймо шансу і можливості прожити кожен день свого життя як великий подарунок від Господа, – прожити його правильно, наповнюючи його правильним змістом, і прожити його з Богом», – додав він на завершення.

Perhaps today is the day when we will have the opportunity to follow Jesus and to shout from the bottom of our heart: ‘Lord have mercy!’ Perhaps we are bound to a hospital bed, we are having a difficult time breathing, we find it difficult because we have just received a diagnosis… pray silently with all your might: ‘Lord have mercy!’”– suggests bishop Stephan.

Or if we don’t have any time for morning prayer and complain about this lack of time, if we don’t know how to pray, as you are walking out the door let’s say: ‘Lord have mercy!’ “It is very important not to lose an opportunity to be with God, and by combining your spiritual and physical vision not to miss an opportunity to see the world properly. After all, to be a believer means to be able to look at the world correctly. In today's circumstances, we need more and more people who will look at the world correctly and make it better by their actions", the homilist assures us.

Bishop Stephan encourages us to turn to God in this short prayer “Lord have mercy!” so that we can value each day and all of the people who surround us and all of the opportunities with which God gifts us. He ended by saying: “Let’s us not miss our chance and opportunities to live each day as a huge gift from our Lord - to live it properly, filling each day with meaning and living each day with God”.

«Якщо вам важко, а ви

не вмієте молитися, повторюйте просто: Господи, помилуй!»

Щоразу, коли чую в євангельських історіях звернення до Ісуса: «Помилуй нас, Сину Давидів», переконуюся у великій силі, на перший погляд, звичної нам молитви, можливо, найкоротшої, яку ми повторюємо безліч разів під час різних богослужінь: Господи, помилуй! Про це сказав владика Степан Сус під час проповіді до вірних у Патріаршому соборі Воскресіння Христового.

Єпископ наголосив, як для людини важливо в житті не втратити свого шансу, своєї можливості. Кожен день, кожен ранок, кожен вечір подарований нам Богом як нова можливість, як новий шанс зробити щось добре. Цим даром не можна знехтувати, його не можна закопати чи перенести на завтра. Ми повинні його використати вже і тепер, скористатися ним правильно.

«Господь дарує нам кожен день, – вважає проповідник, – як нову можливість щось осягнути, змінити, навіть перекреслити чи виправити, як можливість комусь подати руку. А до когось навіть просто усміхнутися. Це також можливість і шанс почати новий етап життя, спробувати молитися, брати активну участь у богослужіннях, допомагати ближнім, підтримувати різні соціальні проєкти».

Він зауважив, що багато з нас, прокидаючись вранці, розпочинаючи свій день, не знають, що робити: «Я переконаний, що навіть сьогодні багато розпочали недільний ранок як будень, без конкретного змісту. Дозвольмо собі розпочинати день з Богом. Це також для нас нагода наповнити своє життя правильним змістом. Це подібне до того, як ми розгортаємо книжку, читаємо її зміст, і нам стає цікаво, хочемо далі читати… Як важливо наповнювати кожен день правильним змістом, правильно переживати».

«Якщо нам важко або якщо ми не знаємо, чого в Бога просити, повторюймо:

If you are having a difficult time and don’t know how to pray, simply

repeat: “Lord have mercy!”

“When I read gospel stories, every time that I get to the part where someone says ‘Son of David, have mercy’, I find that at first glance there is great power in a simple short prayer which we repeat numerous times during our various liturgies: ‘Lord have mercy!’” These were the worlds of bishop Stephan Sus during a sermon in the Patriarchal cathedral of Christ’s Resurrection in Kyiv.

The Bishop emphasized that it is very important that people not miss a chance or miss a possibility. Every day, every morning, every evening is a gift from God, a new possibility, a new chance to do good. We cannot ignore this gift, we cannot bury it or postpone it until tomorrow. We have to take advantage of it immediately, and take advantage of it correctly.

“Our Lord gives us a gift of every new day”, says the homilist, “as a new opportunity to learn, to change and even to fix things, also as an opportunity to extend a helping hand to someone; even an opportunity to simply smile at someone. This is also a chance to start a new stage in life, to try praying, to take an active part in church services, to help one’s neighbor and to support various social projects.”

He said that as many of us wake up in the morning we start our day not knowing what to do: “I am sure that even today many started their Sunday morning as they would a weekday, without any concrete meaning. Let’s start our days with God. This will give us an opportunity to fill our life with proper meaning. It’s like opening a book, starting to read it and finding that we want to continue reading… It’s very important that we fill every day with proper meaning and proper experiences.”

Всі, бачивши те, заходилися нарікати та й казали: “До чоловіка грішника зайшов у гостину.” А Закхей устав і до Господа промовив: “Господи, ось половину майна свого даю вбогим, а коли чимсь когось і покривдив, поверну вчетверо.” Ісус сказав до нього: “Сьогодні на цей дім зійшло спасіння, бо й він син Авраама. Син бо Чоловічий прийшов шукати і спасти те, що загинуло.” Причасний: Хваліте Господа з небес, хваліте його в вишніх. Алилуя, Алилуя, Алилуя.

I mean to stay at your house today.” He quickly descended, and welcomed him with delight. When this was observed, everyone began to murmur, “He has gone to a sinner’s house as a guest.” Zaccheus stood his ground and said to the Lord: “I give half my belongings, Lord, to the poor. If I have defrauded anyone in the least, I pay him back fourfold.” Jesus said to him: “Today salvation has come to this house, for this is what it means to be a son of Abraham. The Son of Man has come to search out and save what was lost.” Communion Hymn: Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise Him in the highest. Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Our Feed the Hungry project is going into its fourth year.

The first year, 2018, thanks to our very generous parishioners, we collected $38,000, which paid for 2533 large bags of food products for the poor in Ukraine. The following year, in 2019, we collected $45,000 which paid for 3000 large bags of food. The year of 2020 was a very difficult year - the year of the pandemic, when many people lost their jobs, many were ill and still others were afraid to leave their homes. And yet we are most happy to say that we collected over $30,000 which paid for 2000 bags of food. We are a very unique parish in our generosity. Through the kindness of the parishioners we are able to embrace very many needy people and to give them hope. We pray that we will be able to depend on your continued generosity so that our work can continue into the future and serve not only as an example to our younger generation but also to those who have received your generous gifts of food.

Ми починаємо четвертий рік нашого проекту НАГОДУЙМО

ГОЛОДНИХ. Першого року, 2018-го, завдяки

нашим щедрим парафіянам, ми назбирали $38,000, та оплатили 2533 великих торб з продуктами для потребуючих людей в Україні. На наступний 2019-ий рік ми назбирали $45,000 та оплатили 3000 великих торб з продуктами. Рік 2020-ий, рік пандемії, був тяжким роком – люди потратили роботи, декотрі хворували а інші боялися виходити з хати.. Але нам дуже приємно сказати, що ми все таки назбирали понад $30,000 та оплатили 2000 торб з

продуктами. Ми є унікальна, дуже щедра

парафія. Через доброту наших парафіян ми могли подати руку дуже багатьом бідним людям та подарувати їм надію.

Молимось, що ви дальше будете нас підтримувати, щоб ми могли продовжувати свою працю в майбутності і що ви будете служити прикладом не лиш молодшому поколінню але також тим, хто отримав нашу допомогу.
