THE HIDING PLACE

Over the last ten years I have been seeking the Lord more intensely and through a series of trials and sufferings, have come to know the peace of God in the midst of turmoil; the comfort, the protection and provision, the love, acceptance and forgiveness of the Lord. Most of all I have learned through experience that His grace is sufficient for me in all situations, and that this grace is actually His empowerment to walk in victory in this life, despite the circumstances.

I have come to know that suffering and affliction is the way that God trains and matures his children, not causing but using it, burning out the dross of the carnal nature in our characters to bring forth the gold of the Divine nature; the fruit of the Spirit in our lives. So when a trial comes, don’t run away, but run into His arms, into the hiding place, where the deep inner work and healing is wrought. These times are opportunities! God is good ….all the time!

My prayer is that as you read these poems and discourses, that you will catch a glimpse of the Spirit behind the words and come to know Jesus in a more intimate way yourself.

‘For this cause everyone who is Godly shall pray to You in a time when You may be found; surely in a flood of great waters they shall not come near him. You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye”. (Psalm 32:6-8)

HEAVEN’S REALMS

I still my soul to seek Your face,my heartbeat marks the time;

in quietness I sense Your peace,as thoughts flee from my mind.I’m all alone with You my Lord,

as all agendas fade;my one desire’s to be with You,

with silent words I pray.Your presence brings a gentle touch,

a fragrant breath of air;I feel that I’m the only one,

with whom You talk and share.A place of presence and of power,

a place of warm embrace;Your Father’s heart it beats for me,

as we sit face to face.You build me up, You make me strong,

You show me what to do;Your will be done on earth through me,

and in my family too.With all my heart and all my soul,

with all my strength and mind;I worship You with all I am,and dwell in peace sublime.

You fill me up and lift me high,You sit me on Your throne;You give me Your authority,

and make my words Your own.I am so grateful for the times,when we like this commune;I feel I sit in heaven’s realms,while here within my room.

“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been

saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus”

FORVER TRUE

How tangible Your presence Lord,how charged the air with peace;in quietness I hear Your voice,

where power and meekness meet.Your words are full of love and grace,

but challenge every sin;the holiness that You impart,empowers me from within.

Yes I am righteous in Your eyes,but not by what I’ve done;

You look at me but see right through,to gaze upon Your Son.

How awesome is Your dwelling place,a throne set in my heart;

a hiding place where I may dwell,Your light dispels the dark.

A smile appears upon my face,as I reflect on You;

my Lord, my Saviour and my friend,You are forever true.

“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Holy Spirit dwells in you?”

1 CORINTHIANS 3:16

HOLINESS

The beauty of Your holiness,is way beyond compare;

a light so unapproachable,I can but stand and stare.

The purity of who You are,Your goodness shining through;a love so great it paid the price,

for me to come to You.The battle now that is at hand

is not ours to contend;we will lift up Your holy name,

as You, Your angels send.Our lips declare the grace of God,

our voices raised in praise;for all Your promises are true,

to us for all our days.

HOW DEEP THE DARKNESS

How deep the darkness when the light,is shrouded by our sin;

how sharp the shame and strong the pain,when fear it rules within.

Our lusts are never satisfied,they drive us from inside;

when we exchange the truth for lies,the jaws of Hell yawn wide.

The light we see is truth revealed,but darkness hides its form;

Don’t curse the darkness, light a match,until the light of dawn.

The Son will rise in righteousness,with healing in His wings;

but only those whose eyes are bright,will bring the harvest in.

Confession shines the light within,repentance closes doors;

the prince of darkness, he must leave,when light comes pouring forth.

The darkness is a sanctuary,for all that will defile;

where feelings fester unrestrained,and thoughts wear wicked smiles.

Within recesses of our minds,a stronghold is revealed.

a place of poison from a child,where hurts remain unhealed.

By courage we can open up,by faith let in the light;

believe no more the lies about,our worth by being right.

It’s not so much what we would do,but what we would believe;

for we are loved for who we are,God grant us eyes to see.

The fear of punishment is strong,it hardens us inside;

we shun the light and love the night, and swallow every lie.

To hide from God is foolishness,for in His love and grace;

forgiveness flows with open arms,to all the human race.

NO WEAPON

Lord as we stand upon the Rock,and in the broken walls;

we intercede on their behalf,to save them from a fall.

The ones You place upon our hearts,are under fierce attack;

but prayer prevails and will not fail,as we fight back to back.

You say, the Spoiler, You have made,to kill and steal, destroy;

but then You promise to Your saints,an everlasting joy.

No weapon formed against us will in any way succeed;

and those who speak against us will retreat at our decree!

As servants of the Lord Most High,a heritage we have;

that we can stand in righteousness,because He is our Dad!

So though the arrows they may fly,and some may find their mark;

fear not, for Christ, He lives inside, and He will guard our heart.

Now as we stand within the breach,a confidence is ours;

the greater One who dwells in us,defeated all the Powers.

“…And I have created the Spoiler to destroy. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgement you shall condemn. This is the heritage

of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me “, says the Lord.

I’LL RISE

I’ve been afflicted, more than once,my enemy brought me down;

though I am wounded, I’ll not faint,for I am promised a crown!

Grace is sufficient for this man,for when I am weak, He’s strong.

Jesus in me is all I need,to Him, all I am belongs.

My heart and flesh they both may fail,but God is my strength and life;

storms and falls may bring me down,but after it all, I’ll rise!

I’ll rise above their schemes and plans, to rule and reign with Christ.the obstacles set in my way,are stairs to abundant life.

So be encouraged all my friends,and don’t bear your load alone;

cast all your worries on Him who cares,and sit with Him on His throne.We are all seated with the Lord,

above all this worldly strife;just as He rose on Easter morn,by faith we’ll bring death to life.

We are an army, raised from bones,alive by the Word and Breath;prophesy now to all that binds,

and raise His promise from death!

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness”

OFFENCE

For all the years of prayer and faith,through all the highs and lows;for all the expectations dashed,

my heart, my Father knows.He knows that I don’t understand,

why some are healed, or not.He knows the pain to pray again,

in faith and not give up.If I’m offended by His ways,

I’ll lose all that I have;but if I learn to trust His love,

in darkness I’ll be glad.His ways are higher than my ways,

too much to comprehend;my ignorance can bring offence,

if pride in me won’t bend!From strength to strength will glory rise,

if I will just believe;believe the goodness of the Lord,

so I can then receive.I know that my Redeemer lives,

that He has paid the price;that if I persevere in faith,

I’ll see the light of life.These light and momentary trials,

will seem to fade away;when Christ in us, He is revealed,

in glory day by day!

“And when John (the Baptist) heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples and said to Him, ”Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?”

Jesus answered and said to them, “Go, tell John the things which you hear and see: the blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”

MATTHEW 11:2-6

THE MARK OF THE BEAST

There’s danger in the times we live,rebellion in the air;

the children don’t regard their Dads,nor for their Mothers care.

The world it teeters on the brink,abyss is open wide;

for we are lovers of ourselves,and to the Lord been blind.

The Kings of nations plan their moves,against the Shepherd’s sheep;

enacting laws and closing doors,to those His Word still keep.

The Beast is rising from the sea,intent on Christian blood;

but those who stand in faith tonight,are covered by God’s love.

No weapon formed against us will,by any means prevail;

if we’ll believe and speak the Word,His mercy will not fail.

The Beast will force his mark upon,the hands and heads of men;by fear and threat intimidate,

our family and our friends.The world it lives to buy and sell,

and by that to control;the Kingdom gives and it receives,

beyond all worldly holds!Fear not, don’t let your love grow cold,

don’t be alarmed and run;for we were born to stand in Him,

the Father’s Son has won!

“And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”

WAITING TO BE BORN

Here I am inside the womb,alone, yet held so tight;

soon my passage will begin,from darkness into light.

Everything that I have knownhas happened in this room;

I have no comprehension of,the light of sun or moon.

I’ve never breathed the sweet spring air,or used my legs to walk;

never held my father’s hand,but hear him when he talks.

My universe is very small,but I know I am loved;

I feel my mother’s gentle touch,and sense the Holy Dove.

For deep inside the secret place,my Father fashioned me,

He gave me ears to hear His voice,and eyes so I could see.

I’ve held my breath for O so long,anticipating life;

but leaving all I’ve come to know,is like an inner fight.

Now what’s that push I feel so strong,it must be time to go;

I feel so tight, but I’ll be right,out there I’ve room to grow!

“For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvellous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skilfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed, and in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.”

THE POWER OF THE HOLY PEOPLE

“Then I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand to heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever, that it shall be for a time, times, and half a time; and when the power of the holy people has been completely shattered, all these things shall be finished” . (Dan 12:7)

This prophesy speaks of the very end times; times when we who believe shall be delivered from the shackles of this earth and rise to the fullness of eternal life. They are also times of eternal judgement for those who won’t believe – even though they may have acted perfectly in line with their unscriptural beliefs!

The Lord indicates that we, the holy people have a part in the timing of our day of salvation. I want to explore this with you, through the Word, what this power is in us that needs to be shattered.

Let’s start at the beginning. Adam had enormous power. God gave him dominion over all the earth and everything in it – even the spirits (and Satan). He had God given power and authority. He had a commission (a co-mission with God).

“Then God blessed them and God said to them (Adam and Eve); “Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves on the earth” (Gen 2:28)

God also gave Adam and Eve and all their offspring another gift; one He will never under any circumstances recall or revoke; free will. The power of our will is greater than the power of God! He has deliberately limited Himself to allow us this privilege. This is because we are made in His image. God has free will and therefore, so do we. Even the angels have free will.

This is a good thing except where our will disagrees with God’s. Take Lucifer for example. He was the highest ranked angel in heaven, but fell because he wanted (lusted) the worship God had and to take His place. Pride, the exaggerated perception of our own importance, can place us in the same position; God’s precious creation fighting against his maker.

“God resists the proud, but gives grace (empowerment) to the humble .” (1 Peter 1:5)

Pride exercises our power to bring about our will. Humility says “not my will, but Yours be done” (Luke 22:42) and is enabled by the power of the grace of God.

Adam gave his authority away, but Jesus, the second Adam won it back for us, so we, in Christ now stand on the earth as Adam did! Let’s not make the same mistakes again.

11

Page 12: …  · Web viewMALCOLM COTTON. THE HIDING PLACE. Over the last ten years I have been seeking the Lord more intensely and through a series of trials and sufferings, have come to

What is the angel saying to Daniel in this passage about the power of the holy people? Is it that a great tribulation for at least three and a half years is the only thing that will humble the pride of the Jews and Christians of planet earth? Exactly! It is God’s mercy that triumphs over judgement and His word is a warning and encouragement to us that we can circumvent the judgement by willingly submitting to Him.

Now, this is becoming interesting. God’s promises and prophesies are conditional and variable. There is a temptation, but He gives us the strength to overcome or a way out. History is yet to be written on the last days. If we heed the warnings, (as Israel didn’t and went into captivity), we can change the prophesied outcome. Nineveh did this after the preaching of Jonah, so we have a Biblical precedent for this proposition. God knows our flesh is weak, but the sanctified, Spirit filled believer who has learned the fear of the Lord, is fully equipped to override the lusts of the carnal man!

Let’s examine what some of these lusts are as outlined in scripture, so we may be overcomers and inheritors of all the promises. James outlines this well when he tells us in chapter 4, verses 1-10 where our wars and fights come from;

“Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and you do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you think that the scripture says in vain; ”The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”? But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble”. Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up”.

Friendship with the world is at the heart of our lusts. The “old man” agrees with the self- seeking, self- sufficient mindset of the world around us. “I deserve to have my desires met, it’s my right to have what I want!” The “I” generation is upon us (i-phones, i-pads etc.) It’s all about me, myself, I, and is all consuming to some, drawing us away from God. Our power can create pleasures for ourselves, but at a cost. Humility is the antidote to pride. A biblical principle in warfare is to come in the opposite spirit.

Paul exhorts us in Galatians 5:16-26 not to walk in the lusts of the flesh, but by the power of the Holy Spirit to walk in the opposite.

“I say then: walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery,

12

Page 13: …  · Web viewMALCOLM COTTON. THE HIDING PLACE. Over the last ten years I have been seeking the Lord more intensely and through a series of trials and sufferings, have come to

fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissentions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self -control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.”

Our power has our weight, means, desires and lusts behind it. The power of our soul has our mind, will and emotions all working against the will of God. God’s power in us is pure in its motives and produces good fruit.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-11, talks about the day of the Lord not catching us unawares or sleeping.

“For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ” (verse 9).

Being vigilant in our faith and behaviour is the essence of being humble with the fear of the Lord. We are to see the signs in the earth that scripture alerts us to that the day is coming. In Luke 21:25-36, Jesus outlines the signs of the times. His words, remember, are Spirit and truth; sure prophesy by which we can be positioned to inherit the promises.

“Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” (verse 36)

Peter explains that we have a part to play in the timing of these things (as does the angel to Daniel). In 2 Peter 3:10-13, he says; “What manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and Godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God”. (verses 11-12)

Therefore fiends, holy people, let us not rely on our own power any longer, but humble ourselves before God, resist the devil and God will give us His power through the Holy Spirit to live and walk our lives like Jesus; even in the midst of tribulations and trials. Come Lord Jesus!

THE POWER OF THE SOUL

O Lord, how wondrous is Your Word,how rich and full of light;

in every sentence, every phrase;You teach me what is right.

You open secrets hidden there,between the lines of verse;

that in the darkness shine a lamp,

13

Page 14: …  · Web viewMALCOLM COTTON. THE HIDING PLACE. Over the last ten years I have been seeking the Lord more intensely and through a series of trials and sufferings, have come to

to free me of the curse.The holy people have a powerthat comes from in the soul;a power at enmity with God,

resisting what we’re told.This power of soul will lead to pride,

and pride leads to a fall;for God resists the proud at heart,

but gives the humble all.The great and terrible event,

the coming of the Lord;is tied in part to our own hearts,

and how our life, we walk.For not until we’re broken,

Our power brought to naught;will prophesies all be fulfilled,and Jesus Christ come forth!

So now my holy brethren,let’s walk in Holy fear;

and by our humble, loving lives,let our dear Lord appear!

“ But on this one will I look; on him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My word”.

ISAIAH 66:2

MAKE ME A COIN

Make me a coin , my Lord and God,and spend me at your will;

all my agendas, all my plans,may all amount to nil.

All of the good things, all the bad,I lay them at Your feet;

14

Page 15: …  · Web viewMALCOLM COTTON. THE HIDING PLACE. Over the last ten years I have been seeking the Lord more intensely and through a series of trials and sufferings, have come to

only what’s holy will remain,only Your plans I’ll keep.

Though in Your pocket I may dwell,forgotten for a time;

I’ll not be anxious, I’ll not fret,because You’ve said; ”You’re Mine”.

I am an arrow on Your back,prepared but not in view;

I will await Your skilful touch,to send me straight and true.

Until that time, I’ll worship You,prepare my heart and soul;

study the Word to hear Your voice, so I’ll do what I’m told.

Though I am spent on high or low,no I will not complain;

for I have learned that sacrifice,it turns a loss to gain!

“The Lord has called me from the womb; from the matrix of my mother He has made mention of My name. And He has made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of His hand He has hidden me, and made Me a polished shaft; in His quiver He has hidden me.”

ISAIAH 49:1-2(Said of Jesus, but the Lord may do the same to all his other sons)

I CHOOSE LIFE

I’ve been to the place where no man should go,a place so controlling you just have to know.

A world full of walls to keep the bad out;emotions so dampened, you can’t raise a shout!

A place of perfection, at least in my mind,

15

Page 16: …  · Web viewMALCOLM COTTON. THE HIDING PLACE. Over the last ten years I have been seeking the Lord more intensely and through a series of trials and sufferings, have come to

a place where no conflict could ruin the ride.The scales on my eyes have just fallen off,

though friends they had told me how great is the cost.My mind would pretend to feel like a heart,

but counterfeit love will cause friends to part.I see how I feared to face a rebuke,

I wore my disguise like wearing a suit.

I want no more of this place in my life,I choose now the conflict and I choose the strife.

I want to laugh , yes and I want to cry;and I want to live before I just die!

I choose the life now of purpose and pain,while each day has sunshine but also some rain.

I shout to my God from down on my knees;“Forgive me Lord Jesus and please set me free!Cast off every bondage and break every chain,

and Lord let me never return there again.My worth is in Jesus, my life is in You.

Help me be content to be and not do.”

“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your

descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and length of days..”

DEUTERONOMY 30:19-20

THE LOVE OF MY LIFE

Dorita how I love you so,with what can you compare?Your body smooth and lovely,

and life shines in your hair.But deeper down, beyond the skin,

a heart so deep abides,a heart that cares and carries me,through all life’s storms and tides.

A heart that nurtures and protects,that feels so other’s pain.

You’re there for me to pray and fight,right through the blinding rain.In all creation God has made,

from flowers to the sun;you are to me the shining light,

you are to me, my one.Your words have touched me to the heart,

your tears have sparked the flame.

A LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS

In the darkness I callon the name of the Lord,

when the tide seems to rise over me.I will wait here by faith

as I seek the Lord’s face,by His word I am healed and can see.

For I have the substanceas yet through unseen,

for my God He is bound by His word.By the covenant cut

in the Lamb’s precious blood,I believe in the promise I’ve heard.

My health will come swiftlyas I lay down my life,

through it tarry still yet will I trust.For I know the Lord worksdeep down in the heart,

till the source of rebellion is crushed.Even now as I write

in the darkness of night,I can feel hope a-stirring within.

On your word I will standfor my self and this land,

and your praises my mouth it will sing!

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”.

I do believe that Jesus died,and that He rose again.

I do believe He’s paid the price,I’m healed in Jesus’ name!

I will not bow the knee to doubt,I’ll stand upon the Word.

I’ll stand as long as it may take,for His still voice I’ve heard.

I thank the Lord for all the saints,who cover me in prayer,

who help me fight the fight of faith,

Where, O man did you lose your heart,who has delivered the wound?

When did your heart give up the fight,why have you died so soon?

Your warrior heart is missing,stolen somewhere in your youth.

Words that have cut off your manhood,delivered a lie not the truth.

Speak to the remnant of courage,stir up the danger within.

Man you were made for great conquests,let the revival begin!

Speak out forgiveness to fathers,let the old wounds start to heal;take hold of God by your spirit,let that old heart start to feel!

Speak to the mount of compliance,shake off the shackles of sleep.

Wake up the warrior spirit,hear as deep calls unto deep.Our enemy comes to murder,

foes are attacking our gate.Rise up and put on your armour,for these you’re allowed to hate!

Cut off the heads of these demons,stand now in faith with your sword.

Save now the lives of your loved ones,shout out the word of the Lord!

Gather together in shelter,hide underneath the Lord’s wings.Heed now the voice of our Saviour,

for you are called to be Kings!“Proclaim this among the nations:’ Prepare for war! Wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war

draw near. Beat your ploughshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears; let the weak say, ‘I am strong!”

IN BETWEEN

The fight between the knowingand receiving has begun.

The place of faith was fought for,now the waiting’s hardly fun.

My eye is healed but cannot see,by faith my sight’s restored.His grace sufficient for me,

but the timing’s with the Lord.Surrounded by the faithful,His anointing fills the room;

I’m heavy with the glory,but I want the healing soon.The Lord is working deeper,

than He ever has before.He tells me keep on asking,

and keep knocking at the door.I was so self sufficient,

and so proud that I could serve,but now I am dependant,

and I’m on the upward curve.Help me in the waiting Lord,

and strengthen me for the fight,fill me with your courage bold,to push through another night.My eyes will see the goodness

of the Lord I can be sure;in the time that’s in between,I’ll keep knocking at His door!

“I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He will strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord.”

PSALM 27:13-14

VALLEY OF THE WATERS

The sound of many waters,it thunders in my ear.

The grandeur of the landscape,it takes me far from here.

The valley of the waters,it hides a secret place,

for one determined soldier,who’s sent to seek His face.

Waters speak of life and death,of souls who’ve lost their way.

Flowing to the waterfall,unless they turn and pray.

The souls of men keep marching,for wide it is their road;

but at the end’s destruction,unless to God they go.

Now faith comes by the hearing,and hearing by the word.

But how can ears be opened,unless some preaching’s heard?“Son, preach the word in season,

and out of season too;for I have sent my Spirit,

to reach the world through you.”Waters now they swell with life,

they rise into my soul;bring life and healing to me,

as I do what I’m told.

“For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent?

ROMANS 10:14-15

THE POOL OF SILOAM

The pool a perfect picture,of peace beyond compare,

a waterfall it dancesthrough ferns of maidenhair.

The cliffs are overhanging.A cave behind the pool;the forest fringes lightly,the water fresh and cool.

The pool a place of healing,though not by water clear;

but by obeying Jesus,whose Spirit led me here.

For Jesus is my master,and to Siloam I’m sent,

to wash my worldly vision,and on my knees repent,

who’d never heard of Jesus,but God used as a sign.

He took the devil’s darknessand sent him to be healed.

In following His orders,God’s glory was revealed.I’m sent into the nations

for Him to show through mehow to turn from death to life

and how the blind can see.

“And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, sent)So he went and washed, and came back seeing.”

JOHN 9:7

BY FAITH I WILL RECEIVE

The Spirit of the sovereign LordHe has anointed me;

to preach the gospel to the poor,and make blind eyes to see.

Yes He has saved me from my sinsby dying on the cross.

The blood of Jesus paid the priceto save that which was lost.

No weapon formed against me shallin any way succeed;

for I have died and been reborn,and from the curse been freed’!The written word of God is sure,

on it I stake my life,for God in heaven cannot lie,

He’s with me through the strife.Though storms may come and battles rage

of this I can be sure;I’ll see His goodness in this life,

I’ll wait upon the Lord.In waiting I will be restored,I’ll mount on eagle’s wings.

I’ll run in His strength, walk the miles,and all His praises sing!

The greater one, He lives in meby faith I’ll seek His face.

I’ll fight the good fight of the faith,and run to win the race.

Though healing tarry, I’ll believeHis grace the strength I need.

For when I’m weak, the Lord is strong,by faith I will receive.

“He gives power to the weak and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint”

ISAIAH 40:29-31

THE BATTLEFIELD

The promises of God are ours,though giants rule the land.

Their city walls they reach the sky,but victory’s in our hands.

Our weapons are not of the world,but in the Spirit strong;

to cast imaginations down,take captive what is wrong.

The battlefield is in the mind,the devil whispers lies.

He says to worship other things,than He who saved our lives!The Spirit He produces fruit,

as trials test our faithwe persevere so character,

and hope are formed by grace.Sometimes the devil runs away

and sometimes he will fight.As we stand strong and gird our loins,

the darkness flees the light.The promise is to tribes and clans,

to brothers in the Lord.We need to intercede to win,

to love each other more!We all are signs the Lord will use

to testify His grace.The battle here is not for us,

but for the human race!

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”

THE JOURNEY

I cast my mind to former days,that seem so far away.

When self-sufficiency was mine,and I controlled my way.

I had to strive to feel worthwhileI had to earn respect.

The fear of men rejecting me,was leaving me bereft.

My wife and friends they couldn’t help,I’d driven them away.

How blind I was as I look back,now God has had His way.

The devil had an open door;he chose to take my health.

Through trials I persevered but still,the ‘old man’ won by stealth.

Again a blow, this time my sight,but God in me has grown.

I took the counsel of the wordand made His words my own.

So now by faith and not by sight,or reason of my mind,

I speak the word that “I am healed”,for His stripes healed the blind!

The Lord has opened up my heart,enabled me to feel.

To feel compassion for the lostso He can be revealed.

I’m never going back again,I’ve thrown away the key.The life I live, I live in Him,

His life He lives in me.

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

she didn’t know the word of God,to crush the serpent’s hiss.He also uses natural lust,

its truth dispels the lies.The word of God it was made flesh,

ISIAH 53:4-5

HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR ME

When waves of doubt come crashing down,and hope seems all but lost!

When pushing through seems far too hard,I contemplate the cross.

I lift my eyes and look to Him,the Saviour of my soul.

I cast my mind to former times,and prophecies foretold.

My soul is where the battle looms,in Him I must be strong,

for in my mind the devil’s hadhis strongholds far too long!

The prayers of all the faithful saints,still carry me each day.

The Lord is truly giving me,his eye to see the way.

I can’t afford to drop my guard,Or cease from constant prayer:

For there’s a lion prowling round,who wants me in his snare!

The more I bring myself to trust,the more I feel His peace,

A refuge from the storms of lifeHis mercies never cease.

Perplexed and shaken, but breathing,my self -sufficiency’s crushed.Jesus, my Lord has possession,redeeming me from the dust.

The wonders of God revealed in His wordare waiting for us to take hold.

By faith we can have whatever we ask,the Kingdom is ours if we’re bold!

It takes more than words to steal from the strong,but whatever we bind is bound.

We need to be wise to fathom the timesto know where the victory’s found.

The Lord needs His men to stand in their ranks,while volleys of arrows are fired.

If we’ll trust in Him our shields won’t cave in,and faith in our hearts will be tried.

Be strong in His might and fit for the fight,to recover what has been lost.

We’re on the offence, an army of men,and led by the Lord of the cross!

Obedience reigns for him who is trained,we fight without breaking our ranks.

We scale the high walls, through windows and hallsand plunge through defences as tanks!

The word on our lips, his truth on our hips,the sword of the Spirit in hand;

we speak to the Powers, declare what is ours,by faith we’ll deliver the land!

The hearts of all men are precious to Him,the Lamb, the redeemer of souls.

He’s calling you now, put hand to the plough,for victory belongs to the bold!

“Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus. And when they prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the

Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.”

HOPE DEFERRED

I know the pain of hope deferred,to leave with empty hands;

it burdens down the heart in tears,and shatters all our plans.

But faith is substance, though not seen,it strengthens heavy hearts.

It recognizes who God is,and that we bear His mark.

Our hearts are circumcised by faith,to Him we now belong.

Though all our hopes and plans may fail,it’s Him for whom we long.

So though He slay me, yet I’ll trust,for faithful is our Lord.

For who has known the mind of Christ,and what for us is stored?

Just like a child runs to his Dad,with broken heart I come.

I ask again; ‘Lord heal my eyes’,and to my Father run.

The devil wants to test your strength,but I have prayed for you”.

I’ll run the race with vision or not,for Jesus lives in this man!

Everywhere we venture,our kids are under attack;

prophecies of Satan;by the blood we send them back!

Soothsayers of darkness,attack us with prayers and curse;

testing all we’ve taught them,and finally returning home.

In praising His name, His victory we claimour enemies fall by His sword!

The privilege is ours as sons of the Lord,to bring Satan’s hordes to the ground.

As conquerors all, his plans we will spoil,because in our hearts praise abounds!

“Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two edged sword in their hand, to execute vengeance on the nations, and punishments on the peoples; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute on them the written judgement – this honour have all His saints. Praise the Lord!”(We now war against demons, not people!)

It is no longer I who live,the man inside has died.

The one who had to be in charge,is on the downward slide.

He’s nailed upon the cross of Christ,the one I used to be.

It’s taken God so long to break,the power I had in me.

Through water and through fire I’ve passed,and not been drowned or burned;but part of me has passed away,

and to the Lord I’ve turned.It’s by His grace, and grace alone,

that I survive each day.It’s not by sight but by His faith,

that leads me in His ways.The things I want, I cannot do.

The things I don’t, I do.The sinful nature had it’s way,

but now the day is new.A new beginning in the Lord,

a day I’ve hungered for;It’s light will break through all my gloom,

and open every door!I have surrendered to Your will,

my life is not my own.Your precious blood has paid the price,

I long for You alone.The axe is laid into the root,

the old man soon to go.A man of understanding draws,

the things I need to know.With counsel and the Holy Ghost,

the past will have no hold, upon this humbled man of God,

the Lord redeemed his soul.

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you, When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.”

THE VALLEY OF SHADOW

Page 39: …  · Web viewMALCOLM COTTON. THE HIDING PLACE. Over the last ten years I have been seeking the Lord more intensely and through a series of trials and sufferings, have come to

The promise of protection,is there in black and white.An angel camps around us,

to cover us and fight.As we make God our refuge,

abide beneath His wings;the Lord has promised safety,

from all that evil brings.The place of the abiding,

is hard to understand,the secret place is entered,

obeying His commands.Love the Lord with all your heart,

and love your neighbour too;just believe the Word of God,and He will pull you through.

I’ve noticed a dilemma,for I bear many wounds.

I have stood upon the word,but still the warfare booms.

A secret source of entry,perhaps a curse or vow;

has gained the devil entry,to bring afflictions now.

I must do as God commands,repent of all my sin,

confess the sins of fathers,and bind the one within.

Authority I’m given,it’s mine to do my part.

If I give in or cower,the arrows find their mark.

The walk through this dark valley,is filled with fear and grief,but faith is my protection,here from the deadly thief.

The Lord is walking with me,with comfort and a rod.

He leads me and He chastens,for He’s a loving God.

He saves me from destruction,but tests me to the core;refining faith like silver,

so He can give me more.My feeble mind can’t fathom,the weight that pain achieves;

so I’ll just trust His promise,of life if I’ll believe.

WHY?

Why have I been so afflicted,why have I suffered such loss?

Where is the covering promised,where is the fruit of the cross?

My life I have laid down before You,my will and my praise are Yours.

I trust in Your lovingkindness,Lord, I can’t take anymore!

Satan has come and has plundered,stolen my finger and eye;tried to destroy us by fire;

so Lord can I ask You now ,Why?You say I am a branch in You,and by Your word I am clean;

but even though I’ve borne good fruit,I’m pruned so more will be seen.

The faith I have is being tried,like silver refined by fire.

Though pain it brings, to grace I cling,as I am lifted higher.

The gap between the inner man,and the one the world observes,

is being dealt with O so hard,but that’s what sin deserves.

I’ve harboured judgement in my heart,and inner vows I’ve made.

Without the strong hand of the Lord,I’d not be here today.

I should rejoice, but it’s so hard,while on the potter’s wheel.So Lord I cry for mercy now,

and all my wounds please heal.

“… We also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance character; and character hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”

THE LORD’S REPORT

“Who has believed what we’ve spoken;who has believed our report?”

Why do we disregard Jesus,when crisis controls our thoughts?Words from a doctor can cripple,

words can bring death or bring life.Why are we so disheartened,hearing prognoses of strife?

Reports, they prophesy to us;so whose report do we trust?One that is based on statistics,or one confirmed by the cross?The facts are often misleading

they’re all the world has to give,the truth is; Jesus died for us,

for us not to die but live.

Jesus has paid for our sickness,cancelled the curse of our sin,

borne all our pains and our sorrows,and filled us with hope from within.Take what the doctors have given,

apply the blood of the cross,speak to the mountain before you,

the word concerning your loss.

Jesus will use all things natural,people will help us to heal;

but only by faith we conquer,the fear and the dread we feel.Came as a child to your Father,

cry from the depths of your heart.Consider by faith the promise,for God can do things we can’t.

“Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?..Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”

TAKE UP YOUR CROSS

Oh how hard it is to fight,the ‘old man’ left inside.

He screams and shouts and whispers,into my troubled mind.

He says that you are perfect,the way you were and are;that trying to be like Jesus,

is going way too far.He likes to be the master,the one who’s in control.That sinful, selfish nature,has got to loose its hold!

This self sufficient stronghold,is warring with the Lord,it’s taking all His glory,

pride comes before a fall!

I’ve had it to the eyeballs,and to my fingertips.

I have fought the Lord too long,it’s high time to submit.

I’ve leaned on understanding,relied on natural gifts,

used the talents I’ve received ,to build a counterfeit.

To all the world I’m holy,but God looks to the heart.He sees my true condition,

and seeks to make His mark.My forehead is awaiting,the new name I’ll receive,

when the ‘old man’ bites the dust,and I can finally see.

I need the Holy Spirit,to help me win the fight,

to sanctify this sinner,and lead me to the light.For me to win this battle,

I must go to the cross.I sit here now at Easter,

and contemplate the loss.Not what I would have to lose,

or what I’d leave behind,but glory I would forfeit,

and treasures I would find.Looking back is filthy rags,

I have a heart to worship,to lift Your Holy Name;

to dwell within Your presence,and seek you every day.

You are so great and mighty,the King upon the throne.

My heart desires to be with You,and all within me groans.

to warfare for the land,preach and pray all You would say,

RESTING IN GOD

Sometimes I seem to lose the plot,to miss the path I know.

The thoughts and plans I have are good,but time just seems to go.

It goes because of my ‘old man’,intent to keep the throne.

He knows if I submit to God,control in not his own.

If I control, I’m opened up,the hedge, it is pulled down.

I’ve felt the sting of Satan’s sword,when I still wear the crown.

The things I will to do I don’t,the things I don’t I do.

My God I need deliverance,for You to pull me through!I need to practice discipline,

yet not what I can do.The only way to change my heart,

is trusting all to You.For You have come, fulfilled the Law,

set free from sin and death.You’ve opened up the way to life,

Your Spirit brings me rest.

“In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust (confidence) is your strength”.

PRESSING ON

for I have died and been reborn,and shaken through and through.

My members want to take me back,to dwell on how and why;

but Jesus’ call it leads me on,

is dead and in the grave.The curses and iniquities,are under Jesus’ blood.

I’m walking in the Spirit now,surrounded by His love.

I know that I’m not perfect yet,but have had to choose.

Choose not to live in regret,for things I’ve had to lose.

I’m not the man I used to be,nor what I’m to become.

I’m pressing on toward the goal,to be my Father’s son.

The loss of sight and finger tip,has brought me to my knees.

The cross is such a painful death,I’m dying by degrees.

it’s better to be blind and maimed,and walk a life of faith;

than use the hand and eye to sin,and drop out of the race.

I seek to know my Lord and God,in so much deeper ways,

but only through the suffering,will I partake of grace.

To know His resurrection power,conformed into His death;

by any means that He may choose,to form in me His best.

“Yet indeed I count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Jesus Christ my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is in faith in Christ, the righteousness which is in God by faith; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already attained or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.”

he knows his time is short.He’s on the rampage here and now,

a battle to be fought.He’s coming in to steal our dreams,

to bring our vision down,to cut our faith off at the knees,

and make us lose our crown.The weapons of our enemy,are used against our minds;

to draw us off away from God ,revealing fearful signs.

For Jesus leads His army now,we’re sprinkled by His blood,

whatever evil has been planned,is cancelled by His love.

The enemy we’re facing now,is not in human form;

but moving in behind the scenes,just like a mighty storm.

The kings and priests upon the earth,the saints, the holy ones;are moving now in unity,awaiting Him who comes.

The day is close, the hour at hand,when Jesus comes again.

The time is short till You return,the clock is winding down.

The earth is full of final signs,I feel the trembling ground.

The nations of the earth conspire,against His humble saints.

With persecution running rife,they’re casting off restraint.

The gospel though, it spreads like fire,with millions pouring in.

Revivals rise in every land,convicting men of sin.

The lampstand soon will be returned,to old Jerusalem.

The Lord will stand upon the mount,and draw to Him all men.

Don’t be deceived, don’t be alarmed,don’t let your love grow cold.

The only way we’ll stand’s by faith,so in His love, be bold.

A mighty river flows to Hell,around the bend it falls,

humanity is in the stream,not heeding warning calls.

The pit, it’s mouth is open wideeternal death awaits.

All those who follow Satan’s call,will find the truth too late!

Lord give us power to save the lost,to open up their eyes;

to save them from the devil’s trap,bring truth to counter lies.

Eternal life with you abides,and peace forevermore.

Help us Lord to make it known,You’re knocking at the door.

“And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold, but he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”

O how foolish I have beento take control again;

to take the reigns and force my willcan only end in pain.

If I control, then grace departs,and all my favour’s gone.

The Tempter came, I played his game,but now I know I’m wrong.

The Word of God it came to me,as I confessed my sin;

that judgement would be swift and sureif I pursued my whim.

NOT THE SAME

Fifty years has come and gone,and I am not the same.

Who I was I am no more,at last I see a change.

Though I have a bit less hair,and wider ‘round the waist;

the years have shown me clearly,it’s not by might but grace.

In all my striving after,the things that I desired,

the hollowness of victory,it left me uninspired.

The thing I’m now aware of,is gratefulness of heart,

for all my friends and family,who loved me from the start.

Relationships with others,are all that we can take,

there into realms eternal,as we pass heaven’s gate.

My life is blessed and favoured,though I’ve been through some trials.

Without the Lord beside me ,I couldn’t walk the miles.

With age we hope comes wisdom,but now I see it’s choice;a choice to trust in Jesus,

and so obey His voice.

burns brighter by the hour.What can I do but share good news,

To be transparent is my aim,so Jesus’ love shines through,

a Christian man, I bear His name,and pray to Him I’m true.

WAITING

The day it is coming ,and soon to arrive,when the veil is removed from our eyes.

The things we have carried in prayer to the Lord,will appear and take us by surprise!

The Lord He has heard all the cries of our heart,and collected each one of our tears.

In the time in between the prayer and what’s seen,our dear Lord’s been revealing our fears.

He has strengthened our faith to finish the race,and has caused us to lean more on Him.

The weight of the glory that’s soon to be ours,needs the Spirit to strengthen within.

For our hearts can’t contain the fullness of God,that the Lord will reveal to His saints.

Whatever we’ve asked for in prayer we’ll receive,but the waiting will strengthen the faint.

So take courage my friends, hold on ‘till the end,though your answer may tarry some more.

The Kingdom is closer to you than you know,and the Lord He is right at the door.

“That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height- to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself

for me.”

a man in all his weakness;set free from sin,

by God upon a cross.My mind can’t plumb

the depth of His forgiveness,a love so great

He died to save the lost.My father sees,

in me a true reflection,of who He sent,

to set the captives free.It’s all by grace

not by my works or striving.I worship now

my God who rescued me.

THE TEST OF FAITH

How hard it is,the time before the healing,

the test of faith,before deliverance comes.

To walk the walk,believing in the promise,

is like a fire,so hot the dross succumbs.

All of our strengthis swallowed up in weakness ,

our natural mindscan’t comprehend the loss.

But God He knowsthat when we’re weak His power,

can break the chainsthat keep us from the cross.

To gain His lifewe first must all surrender,

not only bad,but all we hold as good.

He will provide,if we will just be humble,

He’ll make us grow,in ways we never could.So when you’re there,

my head bows down in worshipand hands reach to the sky.

I feel the light of life ;the resurrection power,

You take me as Your own,You lift me through the heavens,

and place me on Your throne!You give to me authority,

to rule now by Your name,to be there in Your glory,

Stir up the gifts you gave by Your hand,signs and wonders point to Your man.

Stir up my tongue to speak Your word,and proclaim what I’ve seen and heard.

BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO MOURN

To all the broken heartedwho’ve done their best and failed;

I want to bring a message,that on a tree was nailed.

The hopes and dreams of Israelall rested on one man;

the Son of God, Messiah,the One who’d free their land.

But barely had He startedwhen all hope it was lost.For Jesus, Israel’s Saviour,

was killed upon a cross.Yes even His disciples

were left in deep despair.For all that there was promised,

just died with Him up there.The ways of God are awesome,

we just can’t work Him out.His thoughts are not like our thoughts

to us they’re inside out.Now who’d have thought by dying

that all the world could live?And who knows our receiving

is linked to how we give?Before the resurrection,

it seemed His mission failed.Now view your situation,

in light of who was nailed!The hope of resurrection,

abundance past belief,will keep you through the darkness

and bring you some relief.God has given us free will,

sometimes our eyes are blind.We miss the blessed moment,

but grace is there to find.We’ve bared our souls to strangers,

when plans aren’t in our time.But Jesus our redeemer,will take this faith of ours

and work things all together,restore the days and hours.So put your hope in Jesus,

when all we’ve lost is gain.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall

be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called

sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.”

TAKE UP THE SWORD

Take up the sword of the Spirit,shout out the word of the Lord!Jesus our Lord and commander,

calls us to walk in accord.

With praise in our mouths and worshipful hearts,we lie on our beds and sing.

With fetters and chains, because of our praise,we bind their nobles and kings!

With music and drums , with cymbals and shouts,we march as an army to war.

In praising His name, His victory we claim,our enemies fall by His sword!

The privilege is ours as sons of the Lord,to bring Satan’s hordes to the ground.

As conquerors all, his plans we will spoil,because in our hearts praise abounds!

“Let the saints be joyful in glory; let them sing aloud on their beds. Let the high praises to God be in their mouth, and a two edged sword in their hand..”

Now is the time to immerse yourself,baptized in His unending grace.

receiving His life forevermore,today you have made a great step.I pray you’re filled with His Spirit,

power in deeds and words.Intimacy with your Lord and God,

what you pray for, you soon will see.It’s been a privilege watching,

the faith inside you grow,for God has planted seed in your heart,

and it’s just about to explode!

NEW ZEALAND

Your majesty surrounds one;in awe I stand and gaze.

The landscape is amazing,immense, just like Your grace.The mountains tower skyward,

the rivers carve the gorge.The lakes go on forever,

but You I’m drawn towards.This vast display of beauty,

is dust upon Your scales.The greatest wonder to me:Your Son who took my nails!

How could the King of Heaven,Lay down His life for me;

Submit to crucifixion,And die upon a tree?

My mind it just can’t fathom,the depth of Your great love;

that I be called a son and heir,to all that is above.

When I’m up on the mountain,

SEEDTIME AND HARVEST

The moment I passed form death to life,the moment I first believed;

the Spirit Himself was found in me,imparted with Holy Seed.

The roots of this seed must grow down deep,for this is the tree of life.

The tree that was mine before this time,brought Adam and Eve much strife.The tree of knowledge of good bad,must be cut by an axe at the root.

For though it is pleasing to the eye,it cannot produce good fruit.

The seed it must die before it grows;everything goes to the cross.

Even the spiritual gifts we have,our talents and works are lost.

The test of our faith is in the timebetween the sowing and fruit.

Fertilized by the Word of the Lord,the seed it matures by truth.

As we persevere the tree will grow,character buds into hope.

Hope won’t disappoint, the word is sure,cleansed by the launderer’s soap.

The more we mature the more we shine,we are to the world a light.

The more we let go, the more He grows,the more we’re like Jesus Christ.

The heavenly gifts are seed not fruit,the seeded fruit will take time.

Test every spirit, discern the tree,the love of God is the sign.

For love it is patient and is kind,it’s never boastful or rude;

filled with the joy of the Lord and faith,our fruit to the world for food.

THE FATHER’S EYES

The eyes of the Lord, they search for a man;a man who’ll stand in the breach.

He looks for a man who’ll pray for the land;a man whose life it will preach.

Push out from the land and fish in the deep,it’s way out of our control.

The place of great faith, it’s far from safe,but it’s where you fish for souls.

“Your vision’s too small, now think like the Lord,keys to the Kingdom are yours.

The power of prayer is there in your hands,so what are you waiting for!

The ears they are blocked, the eyes they are bound,the world’s in the Devils sway.

Command their release, the blind they will see,for Jesus prepares the way.”

the princes and the powers;I bind with fetters on their feet,

and bring them from their towers.The two edged sword of God I wield,

His word is in my mouth;to execute His vengeance on,His foes from North to South.

What greater honour have His saintsthan to proclaim His word;

to stand and bring deliverance,and sight to those who’ve heard.

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For

THE LONGEST NIGHT

How dark this present darkness.How thick the evil air.

How blind the millions marching,into the Devil’s lair!

This night the winter solstice,the darkness can be felt.

As warlocks cast their curses,and witches wend their spells.Thank God that even darkness,

is light before His eyes;that nothing done in secret,

is hidden from His gaze.I praise my Lord and Master,

the shepherd of my soul;that not a single weapon,

will find it’s evil goal.The blood of Jesus covers,my family and my home;

This darkness is a garment,shot through with rays of light.

The prayers of the faithful,will shorten this long night!

their righteousness is from Me, says the Lord.”

TIMES OF REFRESHING

I hear the sound of heavy rain,though drought devours the land.

I see a cloud rise from the sea,the size of one man’s hand.

The hearts of people are as dry,as pastures turned to dust.

We’ve worshipped things instead of God,forsaken love for lust.

The drought prepares a place for God,it ploughs a hardened heart.

Refreshing rain will come againto cause the seeds to sprout.

The seeds are words and deeds of mendeclaring Jesus’ reign.

When hearts encounter Jesus Christthey never are the same.

The worries of our frantic life,the striving after wealth;

will choke the holy seed of Godand focus on the self.

A desperate heart is what we need,a life or death despair.

For all our knowledge and our wealthwon’t fill our lungs with air.

We need Him like the air we breathe,His love will slake our thirst.For us to see the Spirit fall

EDEN’S VALE

The peace of God descends uponthe valley of the meek.

The hills bow down in worship of,the Shepherd of His sheep.

The cattle moo, the birds sing out,His servants stand in awe.

The hand of God has been revealedon high forevermore!

The pastures roll before me,the singing stream declares;

The homestead has a raging fire,the smoke lifts up His praise.

The presence of the Lord is here,In oh so many ways.

The lady of this house of love,has favour with the Lord.

She intercedes for world affairs,and battles with the hordes.

A warrior in Eden’s Vale,as she prepares a meal;

a polished arrow in His hands,about to be revealed!

The Word is hidden in her heart,her words fly straight and true.

In prayer she stands and takes the land,while hidden here form view.

Man of God your time has come,and soon to be revealed.

For you have stood before the Lord,with nothing to conceal.

A Man of sorrows, deeply hurt,you walked a painful road.

But all along you leaned on Him,who shared your heavy load.You were rejected, cast aside,

despised and left alone,Your reputation in the dust,

but through all this you’ve grown.

You’ve shared the suffering of the Lord,you’ve felt the death of self.

Through doubts and years and untold fears,by faith in prayer you’ve knelt.

For resurrection power my friend,has brought you through the strife.

Mere words cannot describe the grace,that softly flows across your face.

abides a treasure more than gold.The Holy Spirit has the throne,

you know that you are not your own.You lay your life down every day,for Him to use you as you pray.

Your Father’s tested you and found,a heart receptive and bowed down.

A new command He gives today;to take command now as you pray.

The level of the Spirit’s power,is rising in you by the hour.

Expect to see a great release,you are anointed as a priest.

Your words will set the captives free,in prayer more visions will you see.

To women great and small you’re sent,to straighten out what has been bent.

The twisted souls of those abused,will heal so anger will diffuse.

I know it’s hard for me to share,but I’ll step back and help you there.

I’ll be the man that you deserve,and with freedom we’ll converse.
