Autumn News 2013
Staff News Candice Midgley, our Nursery Practitioner in the baby room, will sadly be leaving us in October. Candice has worked at Crossley Mill since 2010 and is ready for a change in career; please join us in wishing Candice all the best for her future and good luck with her new career. Rebecca Conn, who currently works in the Lilliputs room, will replace Candice in the baby room and is very excited about this transition. Rebecca, who has three years’ previous experience of working in our baby room, says, “I am looking forward to taking up the position in the baby room again as a now qualified member of staff with lots of creative ideas.” Sarah Godfrey, our Deputy Manager, begins her maternity leave in November. We wish Sarah all the best in becoming a new mum and look forward to meeting her little bundle. Crossley Mill Sports Day 2013
This year’s Sports Day was a huge success and we would like to
thank all parents, carers, staff and children for their support.
We have raised £290 to go towards our outdoor sand pit.
Check the website for the photo gallery of our fun afternoon.
Crossley Mill would like to say a big thank you to Jessica, Alex and team Cracknell for their hard
work during the summer at sprucing up our garden with a beautiful lick of fresh paint. The
paint came courtesy of a grant from the Colour the Community project sponsored by Dulux, and the children have really enjoyed playing in their new
bright outdoor surroundings.
Crossley Mill Parents’ Evening
Wednesday 23rd October, 7.00-9.00pm
All parents/carers are invited to see their child’s learning journey and speak to their child’s key person about how
their child is progressing at nursery.
There will also be a Barefoot Books stall where you can buy perfect gifts for Christmas
Board News
Over the past few months the board has taken some key steps towards our objective to support the staff in further developing the nursery to becoming an outstanding establishment within the local community. This is down to the hard work of our dedicated staff team and in some cases, their families.
It was great to see so many parents at the annual Sports Day. As a parent-led nursery, engaging parents is key for our organisation: keep an eye out for future events, with Bonfire Night approaching. Thanks to Sarah, Luke, Hannah and Giles the new website was launched recently and received nearly 200 hits in the first few days.
The board would also like to thank Dulux for their kind donation of paint and Jessica, her family and Alex for revamping the garden space and brightening up our gates onto New Road.
The board’s objectives remain the same over the next months, with some key
