Workshops and their presenters:

1. Being Called: Juan Carlos Guytan Session 1: Lamar C

Called or calling can be a scary word. A few years ago I had no idea what calling meant. Actually, a few years ago I was wondering if I was even Catholic. In this workshop I will share my testimony of Life. I will share with you, personal experiences that have helped me understand my calling. My heart was on fire and I had no idea why. Everyone has a calling but we are so busy with our daily schedules to pay attention to what God wants from us. He uses different people or events to tell us. It is up to us to listen to that calling. I hope this workshop will help you in your calling.

This workshop will be bilingual, mostly English but Spanish here and there.

About Juan CarlosI was born in Mexico but grew up in Chicago where I graduated high school and shortly after joined

the United States Marine Corps. While in the Marine Corps I was deployed to the Mediterranean Sea. While on deployment I had the opportunity to build a closer relationship with Jesus Christ and was blessed to visit Jerusalem! I was also blessed to marry the love of my life, Marisol in 2002 and we have 4 wonderful daughters!! After retiring from the Marine Corps I have been joyfully serving as a youth minister. In July 2014, we moved to Tifton, GA due to work. My family and I, attend Mass at Our Divine Savior. Also, it was here where our Lord reinforced the call to work with our teenagers. I’m the ODS Lifeteen youth minister. Fun fact about me, I am the Man of the House, literally, the only guy in the house!! And I love sports, especially from the couch!

2. The Miracle of Confession, Where the greatest Miracles happens: Fr. Dawid Kwiatkowski Session 1: Walsh

In Diary entry 1487, Jesus encouraged Faustina by saying to her: "Tell me about everything, be sincere in dealing with Me, reveal all the wounds of your heart. I will heal them ..." So Faustina always approached the confessional with childlike trust, knowing that her Savior was always there to welcome her and heal her (cf. entry 377). What is Confession, why go regularly, what to confess and how does it change our lives in reference to the Eucharist?

About Fr. DawidMy name is Fr. Dawid Kwiatkowski and I was Ordained in Savannah on June 4th, 2011. I am originally

from Poland and I have been in the US for 11 years. I have served the Lord at these parishes: St. Joseph's in Macon, St. Teresa of Avila in Augusta, St. Augustine in Thomasville, and currently is at St. John the Evangelist parish in Valdosta.

3. The Interior Life of Man: James Lupino Session 1: Oglethorpe F

This world and our lives are so focused on the exterior – what we do, what we say, how we look – that many times the life inside of us is neglected. This is a classic Mary and Martha situation, with Martha bustling about preparing without first recognizing what it is that she is doing. In this workshop, James Luppino will discuss the interior life and why it is important for each and every Christian who wants to live his or her faith to have a rich interior life. From a discussion of the human heart to important questions for self-knowledge to practical tips on prayer and meditation, James will offer his knowledge and experience (though limited) about man’s interior life.

About JamesHi! My name is James Luppino. I am a sophomore at Auburn University (War Eagle) studying philosophy. I spent this past summer as a summer missionary with Life Teen at Camp Covecrest, and plan to return this coming May as a Service Crew member. I am just 19 years old, so I’m not much older than you are, but I am eager to share what I have learned with you. This is my first time at DYC, so thank you very much for putting up with me, I cannot wait to get to know you. May God bless your time here this weekend.

4. All about Mary: Jose Segarra Session 2: Hamilton

This talk is all about Mary, how she is actively working in the world today, why she is so important in our faith, and ways we can get to know her better.  This will be a great way for you to become closer to the Mother of Jesus!!

About Jose My name is Jose Segarra, I go to Sacred Heart Church in Warner Robins. I am the oldest of 3. I work in

cellphone and computer repair shop. I love volunteering in Youth Ministry and it was in Youth Ministry that I felt the call to do mission work in Australia with NET ministries where I spent 1 year talking to youth and helping them experience Christ in a real and personal way. Fun fact about me: I am 5'4 and I am the tallest out of my whole family.

5. Choosing Joy: Ezequiel Morales Session 1: Lamar A

Choosing joy is a daily thing and if you're curious about what that means or looks like then this workshop is for you. My name is Ezequiel Morales and I am a college student striving for holiness while eating more Hot Cheetos than I would like to admit. Life with Christ is an adventure and I wouldn't want it any other way. So let me share how to choose Joy in your life!

About EzequielHi there my name is Ezequiel Morales and I am a college student at Georgia Southern

University. I love all things Holy and feline. Yes, I am a cat guy. It’s the hipster way to go.  Hot sauce on chips is one of my guilty pleasures. If you haven’t tried it I  suggest Lays Classic Chips with Valentina hot sauce as a starter. Shameless plug! Also not the black label unless you’re real. I  also enjoy photography even though I’m no photographer.

6. How to Recharge during the Week: Jaci Niks Session 1: Hamilton

7. Authentic Friendship: Hazel Rose Cici Session 2: Oglethorpe F

If you were anything like me in high school, your life consisted around grades, sports, and popularity. But have you ever stopped and wondered if the people around you really had your best interest in mind? Come join me as we explore authentic friendships that will lead you to eternity.

About Hazel RoseHey there! I’m Hazel Rose and I’m a recent graduate from the University of Georgia with a major in Mathematics Education. Fun fact about me… I like to turn things into songs spontaneously!!

8. Men, Women and the Mystery of Love: Abbie Byron-Goslin Session 2: Lamar A

We are created in God's image and likeness and made for relationship. What does it mean to be fully alive as men and women of God? How do we find and make authentic friendships that will lead us to the holiness, and happiness, that is God's plan for us. How do we turn to God and learn how to trust again when others have hurt and failed us.

the Associate Director of Campus Ministry for the Diocese of Savannah working with college-aged young adults all over the diocese. I have had the opportunity to speak to audiences of all ages at conferences and retreats throughout the country. I am passionate about helping all of God’s children discover their true identity, gifts and callings. So prepare to laugh and have a good time while we encounter God’s Love through prayer, teaching and real-life examples of faith.

12. Keeping our Heart on Fire as Youth Ministers: Chrissy Bundrick Session 2: Cumming

How do we keep our youth engaged and living their faith? More importantly, how do we instill the desire to share their faith and Christ with others? The answer lies within us. If we, as youth minsters, don’t keep the fire burning within our own hearts how can we share it with others? Steps & insight to build our youth ministry program, keep teens engaged, and to keep youth Ministers from burn-out. I look forward to being with you at DYC.

About ChrissyI am married to Gary Bundrick, a wonderful man who supports all my activities. We have 6 adult

children and we are expecting our 13th grandchild in March. We worship at Our Lady Star of the Sea and I’ve been a youth minister for 21 years and absolutely love young people. I have also taught Confirmation before and during this time for 7 years. I was a Girl Scout leader for 24 years and I am still actively involved with scouting and serve on the Diocesan Committee for Scouting. I love bringing teens closer to Christ through LIVING their Catholic faith with experiences such as: Mission trips, Conferences, Retreats, and so much more.
