FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

INTRODUCING THE INDIAN ESTATES BLEND

SEATTLE, Wash., October 21, 2013— Starbucks announces a new special sourced

coffee named Indian Estates Blend in order to commemorate the first year of business in

India. The new coffee was unveiled during a press conference at the Seattle, Wash.

headquarters today.

Starbucks has been revolutionizing the way that people around the globe view

coffee since 1971 when they started their first coffee shop in Seattle, Wash. Now,

Starbucks has over 17,000 stores across the globe creating a coffee culture that has

become a part of people’s everyday routines. In October 2012, the company entered the

Indian market and now operates 25 stores across Mumbai, Delhi NCR, and Pune with

hope of opening 100 new cafes within the next year.

From the birthplace of coffee in India, the finest Arabica beans are chosen from

the regions of Coorg and Chickmagular for all to enjoy. With the new Indian Estates

Blend, consumers from different cultures will be able to pay tribute to the ornate heritage

of the Indian coffee history.

“We have a long-term commitment to work closely with the coffee growing

communities where we do business and elevate the awareness of high-quality Arabica

coffee in India,” says John Culver, Group President of Channel Development and

Emerging Brands. This commitment makes for a better quality in Starbucks’ coffee that

allows consumers to recognize the appreciation that the company has towards its global

markets.

The undeniable commitment to excellence and their guiding ethics has Starbucks

eager to expand their company in order to have the Indian market be one of the top five

markets in the globe over time. The Starbucks Experience is guaranteed for every

customer through every cup. Introducing the new Indian Eastern Blend balances both the

herbal and chocolate indulgences that will bring friends and neighbors together to share

in what they have in common: the love of Starbucks coffee.
