WFBB Booster Meeting 2/1/18

Meeting called to order at 6:32 p.m. by: Randy Campbell/2nd by Brad Brown

Approve December Minutes: Amy Bidleman read the December minutes. Ap-proved by: Bobby Pearson/2nd by Patrick McCune

Orlando Trip: Rob updated us on our parent chaperones for the Orlando trip in March. He said that we had 2 parents added to attend the trip.

Sponsorship Update: Derek Brooks will be making signs to add our sponsors to the trailers. We will also be getting plaques for our other sponsors such as Buffalo’s and Palapas.

Board Elections: Elections are coming up at our March 6th meeting at 6:30PM. If you are interested in being on the board, please submit your name to one of our committee members - Connie Rowe, Kathie Lengle, or Pat Telfor.

Pre-LGPE: Pre-LGPE will be held at West Forsyth on 2/22. We will need many volunteers for this event. We have several bands coming to our school. We will need help with check ins and with our hospitality room. Help is needed from 8am - 3:30pm.

LGPE: LGPE will be on March 3rd and 4th at Dawsonville High School. Rob Hawk will help pull trailers if available. LGPE is open to come watch. There is no fee.

Orlando Trip Change: Mr Tyree updated the group on a change in the spring trip itinerary. The students are not going to be able to perform at Sea World as originally planned. Instead they will be playing in front of Madame Tus-saud’s Wax Museum. They will go to Sea World and enjoy the park afterward.

Indoor Drumline: Indoor Drumline season is in full swing. Drumline is a lot of fun. Please consider coming out to help at our competitions. We need help with props and moving equipment on and off the floor.

Board Nominations: A question was raised regarding board nominations. Ev-eryone runs for a position unless unopposed. The president position is avail-able. A husband and wife team would work great for this position however one person can handle it also. Rob Hawk said he would like to hold the Mem-ber At Large position and help new members. Vice President is available and will most likely be one position going forward. 2 Treasurer positions are also available(the Treasurer role has been restructured into 3 positions). Amy Bidleman and Tera O’Brien are willing to remain on the board next year. In-formation will be sent out through Charms with how to nominate and posi-tions available.

Orientation Night: We will host an orientation night in April for incoming Freshmen.

Orchestra: A question was raised about orchestra. Mr. Tyree said that orches-tra will be during 3rd period next year. The class will be beginner through ad-vanced. It is taking the place of music appreciation in Mr. Tyree’s schedule. There will be $75 lab fee. The program will not be part of the boosters for now. It will start small and not steal from other programs.

Rookie Camp: We will probably have a Rookie Camp once a week through June. Mr. Gallagher will possibly run this as Mr. Tyree is booked up in the summer with book sales and being contracted.

Marching Band Photos: Teresa Weimer said that all pictures from marching season have been edited and uploaded to the band facebook page.

Tennis Courts Update: The tennis team will now be using the courts. We may be able to warm up before games in that area. If not, we may need to warm up in the band room.

Scholarship Updates: Scholarships are still being worked on. There are spon-sorships to allocate and the budget to be finalized still. There will be more in-formation to follow.

Coffee/Cookie and Snack Mix Fundraiser: Randy Campbell let us know that we would be extending the guard and drumline fundraiser until Monday. The products would then most likely be in by Friday.
