Canon C.K. Robertson. Ting.

PW Honorary Lifetime Membership Award

It's time once again to look around for that one special woman who you think is deserving of the Presbyterian Women Honorary Life-time Membership award. She needs to be at least a 5-year mem-ber of this church and an active supporter of PW and its activi-ties. Service to our church counts, but service to PW (in this church) is most important. If you would like to nominate someone, please send as much information as you can find about her PW and church activities, preferably in a letter that can be given to her with her award, to Marty Taylor at [email protected] or 12 Kensington, Conroe 77304. Please send your nomination(s) no later than February 17th.

Flowers of Thanks

Last week’s flowers were given to the glory of God by Margaret Hill, who wished to thank everyone for their prayers, the food she received, as well as other things that were provided while she was ill.

Thank You From Alan and Penny Bell

Your loving expressions of concern and gifts of food and flowers lifted our spirits tremendously. Thank you for your generous kind-ness during our unfortunate circumstances.

Flower Calendar

Please make note that the 2019 Flower Calendar is available on the Welcome Desk if you would like to provide flowers for our wor-ship services.

Visitors Welcome to FPC

First Presbyterian Church of Conroe welcomes you. If you are interested in learning more about our church or wish to become active in our ministry teams and activities, please fill out the “Welcome” card located on the inside of the attendance pads and at the Welcome Desk. The completed cards can be placed in the collection plate or given to one of the ushers.

Registration for Sew-a-Thon Begins Today

Registration begins today for the Tenth Annual Sew-a-Thon, which will be held on February 23rd, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., in the Family Life Center. Stop by the registration table, locat-ed in the Narthex, and sign up to participate. The purpose of the Sew-a-Thon is to make as

many children’s quilts as possible in one day. The quilts are do-nated to the “Bags of Love” organization, which is sponsored by the 7th Day Adventist Church. The quilts, along with age/gender appropriate books, games, toys, and toiletry items go in “Bags of Love” which are given to children in Montgomery County who are removed from their homes by Children’s Protective Services. Last year 189 bags were distributed. If you don’t sew, there are other ways you can participate. If you are unavailable on the 23rd, you can still help by contributing some of the items that go in the Bags of Love. You will find a list of needed items on the insert in today’s Connection. You may also make a monetary contribution to the project by writing a check to FPC, with a notation “Bags of Love”. Items (new or gently used) are also needed for the Silent Auction. Proceeds from the Silent Auction fund the work of the Mission Sewing Group. If you have questions or want more infor-mation, call Joan Lowery, 936-760-3993.

Gerry Buchholz Visiting FPC Today

Gerry Buchholz (niece of former FPC members Ruth and Herb Decker), whose Mission we at FPC have supported for many years, will be joining us today. The Exploring Our Faith Sunday School class will host her presentation at 10:00 a.m., in the Li-brary. We hope you will join us.
