Symptom

The tables CMFK and CMFP (messages or error log) become very large. You cannot delete or archive all entries.  The tables CMFK and CMFP are not connected to the archiving objects CO_ORDER, PR_ORDER, PP_ORDER and CO_KSTRG for the application IDs "KKS", "KKS1" and "KKP".

Reason and Prerequisites

This is due to a missing function.

Solution

You can use the deletion program z_cmf_kks_delete/zcmfkdel to delete old entries from the two tables CMFK (header table for messages) and CMFP (item table for messages). You can specify the following intervals as selection parameters:               Error log number

              Date of creation

              Name of the user who generated the entries

You can start the program either in the test run or in the update run. Note that when you execute the program in the update run, this irrevocably deletes the entries in both tables. You cannot select or delete entries for specific orders because an error log may contain messages for many orders or many messages may not have an order reference. Therefore, make sure that you only delete entries for periods for which the relevant objects (production orders, process orders, cost objects, product cost collectors) have already been archived. You can use transaction KKAN to delete the entries for the WIP calculation or the results analysis (application ID "KKA"). To execute the program z_cmf_kks_delete/zcmfkdel, proceed as follows:

1. Create the program z_cmf_kks_delete/zcmfkdel in a customer-specific development class or in the development class $TMP.

2. Implement the attached source code corrections.

3. Maintain the following selection texts:

                  Field name  Text

                  S_NUMBER  Error log number

                  S_USER   User

                  TESTL    Test run

4. Activate the program.
