    There are no fixed rules about when to use DO or MAKE.

    Both verbs have the meaning of to accomplish or to perform, but the difference between them is not always

    evident. Sometimes it is just an idiomatic expression.

    In general, we use make to talk about producing things, and do to talk about actions.It is not simple to make good use of these two verbs. We dont know how to make agood decision in selectingone form or the other.

    We use do + the + the ing form of a verb to refer to a wide range of actions.some

    Examples: A) We usually do the shopping on Saturdays.

    B) She does the decorating and I do the painting.

    Please note the following expressions with do:

    do something interesting do harm

    Pay attention to the expressions used in this short dialog.

    Albert and John are talking about the future of their company.

    Albert : If we want to make money, we will need to make good decisions concerning our futureinvestments.

    John : I agree with you. We will have to make good use of all our resources and ask the employees

    to make a big effort in order to make good profits.

    Albert : They are very motivated. I believe they will do their best .

    We use make with the idea of constructing or creating, preparing something by combining

    materials or putting things or parts together.

    Examples:

    A) She makes her own dresses.

    B) The boss himself made a cup of coffee.C) Please, make your bed after making breakfast.
