All natural teeth and replacements had the color "21".

JNOTEb: 1. 3IASCKKL considers it possible that the upper right 1st molarwas lost in early youth, causing the 2nd and 3rd molars to move forwardand close the gap. In that case there vrould be present (starting from 1stbicuspid) 1st and 2nd bicuspid, 2nd and 3rd molars.

2. The same possibility exists for the lover left jar:#

TREATMENTS 01 HITLER

Source: BLESCHNE, Dr Hugo Johannes Position: Brig Gen in 'Vaffen SS, Hitler'sdentist

(NcTE: The folioring is a translation of notes written for this reportby BLAbCHIZE, giving Hitler’s abridged cage history as a dental patient in theyears 1934 to 1943 •)

In the beginning of the year 1934 1 ras, at the instance of the then(Prussian) Prime Minister GOERIPG, called to the Reich Chancellery. I ras toldthat Adolf Hitler had a toothache. Upon examination I found a spelling of thegingiva of the left lorer jar, extending from the left central incisor to theleft cuspid. The lo~er left lateral incisor had at its distal end a cavityrhich extended as far as the pulp cavity. The pulp ras dead and the toothsensitive to pressure. 4*11 lo~. er incisors, especially the ones on the left, were very loose.

"The pains could be caused either by an abscess in the area of the root-tips or by an abscess in the gingival pocket of the lerer left lateral incisor.

"After opening of the root canal and removal of an abundance of tartar thepains soon decreased in intensity and disappeared completely over night.

"The A-ray photos shored the folioring: a lentil-sized light spot aroundthe tip of the root of the lorer left lateral incisor. Strong atrophy of thealveoli, most pronounced around the lorer right central incisor and the lorerleft central and lateral incisors...

"During the folloring days--besides the treatment of the root of the lorerleft lateral incisor--tartar ras thoroughly. The gingivitis healed and theteeth became steadier and again fit for use. The treatment of the root took anormal course. The tooth ras filled rith iodoform-paste ( alkhoff) and temp-orarily closed...

"In the upper jar much more extensive rork ras necessary. There existed oncither side bridges rhich rere connected by an arch behind the left incisors.

Three fourths of the upper left lateral incisor ras broken off. The arch con-necting the tro bridges caused annoyance because food particles got caught init easily. The gingiva had receded considerably from the edges of the existinggold crcrns, so that the necks of the teeth rere exposed. Caries had started atsome of these points.

"The old bridges had to be removed and replaced. As the upper right centralincisor ras already absent and replaced by part of the bridge and as, in add-ition, the lateral incisor ras 3 7 4 broken off, the gaps rould have impededspeech. Hitler refused a temporary replacement through a removable dental platefor the period of manufacture (of the ner replacements). It ras then possibleto remove both bridges in their entirety. They rere taken out at each sittingand temporarily fastened again after, ard. The root of the upper left later?1incisor, rhich had to be completely removed for the fitting-on of the ner crorn, received a temporary pivot-tooth.

2. REASON FOR RE1CRT

This information is being published in order to provide:

a. data useful in the identification of Hitler or his remains;b. knowledge needed to expose those frauds who in later years may claim

to be Hitler, or who may claim to have seen him or talked to him;c. research material for the historian, the doctor and the scientist

interested in Hitler.

Descriptions of the teeth of Eva BRAUN and Martin BORIJANN are appendedas Annexes II and III for the purpose of assisting identification of theirremains, if found. The fact that they were intimates of Hitler and with himduring the last days of the Battle 01 Berlin prompts inclusion of thismaterial.

a. Introduction; Source

(NOTE; Eor details of Source's career see Annex IV)

Dr Hugo Johannes BIASCHNE was a Brigadefuehrer (Leader of a Brigade)and Brig Gen in the V/affen-SS. He was called in to treat Hitler by HermannGOERING in the early part of 1954* He was Li tier's dentist from that timeuntil his departure from the Reichs Chancellory and BERLIN during the nightof 20-21 Apr 45. His last treatment of Hitler was some time in mid-February,1943* Neither he nor anybody else is believed to have treated the Fuehrerafter that time.

The description of Hitler's teeth was made by BLASCHNE with the aid ofX-ray pictures of Hitler's head taken on 19 Sep 44 (See Annex III of l.b.above.) Source's information on Hitler's teeth is considered reliable.

BLASCHlCE was interned on 28 May 43 and interrogated during November andDecember of 1943*

(b) Replacements

The following replacements were present in April 1945»Upper Right Jaw: A bridge, extrending from central incisor

to 2nd bicuspid and consisting of thefollowing elements:

1 Richmond crown (pivot in root canal, golden back - lingual - part, frontal -

labial - porcelain facet) on centralincisor,

2 Golden back part, frontal porcelainfacet over space of missing lateral incisor,

2 Full gold crown over cuspid,

Full gold crown over 1st bicuspid,

2 Freely suspended golden masticatingsurface over space of missing 2nd bicuspid.

Upper Left Jaw : A bridge , extending from central incisorto 1st bicuspid and consisting of thefollowing elements:

1 3/4 crown (window crown) on centra]incisor, consisting of frontal pictinumring and golden back part,

2 Richmond crown on lateral incisor,

2 Full gold crown on cuspid,

4 Freely suspended golden masticatingsurface and back part with frontal por-celain facet over space of missing 1stbicuspid.

This bridge extended farther until the endof October 194'4• At that time BLASCKKEextracted the 2nd bicuspid and cut thebridge between the 1st and 2nd bicuspids. The str ight edge produced by the cuttingis strikingly characteristic.

4. CONCLUSION

BL-iSCHXI had furnished a rather hasty and incomplete description cfHitler's teeth to interrogators at a previous place of internment.

The Description on which the present report is based is the only one hemade with the aid of the X-ray photos mentioned in par 3 It can, there-fore, be considered authentic and accurate.

5. CO.ULNTS ND RECOMMENDATION

Ho further interrogation of is planned at this Center.

Another report on Hitler, containing mainly descriptions of his mentalmake-up drawn irom sources in intimate contact with him at one time or an-other, is in preparation.

MARI IK BORMANN 1 S TEETH

Source: BLASCfEdi, Dr Hugo Johannes Position; Brig Gen in v/affen SS, Hitler'sdentist

BIASCHKE states that he treated Martin BCJ&3AKN regularly from 1937 to1943» for the last time in March 1943* During that period BORi.iANN was nottreated by any other dentist. Source states that despite the non-availabilityof X-ray pictures (see last two paragraphs of Annex I) he remembers BORMANN'sdentition in detail.

Description of Martin BCRMANN 1 s Teeth

Upper Jaw, seen frontally

The upper right central incisor was missing. It had been lost about 1942*Since the gap had to be closed immediately, temporary window-crowns were madefor the upper left central incisor and the upper right lateral incisor. Themissing tooth was replaced by a procelain facet on a golden back part.

*

Since all upper incisors were more or less loosened by paradentosis, abridge-support was planned extending from cuspid to cuspid. As, however, theloosening of the incisors progressed slowly, the temporary arrangement provedsatisfactory and the bridge was never made.

Page 12: 01 FIR/31 3 Feb 46 HEADQUARTERS UNITED STATES FORCES

Cl - FIR/31In the upper jam mere present after remove! of the old bridges; (see

draming on' page 6 of report)

consequently, tmo possibilities o fcred themselves:

1. i* removable, supported prosthesis, restoring the ability tomasticate as far as the bridge in the lo7 er right jam mould allom;

2, .* fixed bridge mith a slightly sm Her masticating surface. Sincein Hitler's oase an edge-to-edge bite ras present, the abilityto masticate mould have been sufficient, despite the missing molars,

"Hitler rejected a removable prosthesis. He remark; d to this point that forhim as a vegetarian the fixed bridge mould suffice, since he had a specialkitchen at his disposal at all times.

"The following bridge mas then -ade (see dr. mings on page 3 cf report).

"Hitler's treatment mas finished. The treatment of the root of the lorerleft lateral incisor mas repeated during one of the last sittings (for the fit-ting cf the bridge), after an k-ray check-up had revealed a noticeable reduc-tion of the infection focus at the root-tip,

11 1 agreed rith Hitler that I mould have to examine his teeth in intervalsof three or four months at the most, since only constant supervision, especiallyof the lomer incisors, could tend to avoid similer extensive mork in the upperjam.

"I was able to make these check-ups fairly regularly until the out-break of the mar.

"He" extensive mork ras not necessary during those years...

"Treatments mere preformed at either the Berlin Chancellery or the Berghofon Obersalzberg. Cental stations existed in either place.

"In the years 1938-39 I did not succeed for a long time (I think it r.7 asa little more than a year) in treating Hitler. 1henever I called I mas toldthat treat ent mas not possible it the time, and that I should mait until not-ified, .hen I mas finally called pain mas present. The upper left centralincisor had an extensive caries...

"In contrast to previous years, treatments from nor: on mere more difficultto carry cut, since Hitler had very little time. He mas in addition vtrymarried about pains that might be caused by the treatments and demanded thegreatest caution to have them avoided, I could never be sure mhether a treat-ment scheduled ' culd come off or mhether it mould be postponed indefinitely. It mas, homever, possible to keep the tooth permanently quiet... H conclusionof the treatment, i.e., filling of the root and final filling of the cavity, mas never achieved...

".*t the " ,,clf sschanze" headquarters treatments r ere performed in r truck-mout. ted dental station, proviaed by the guard battalion of the Regiment "Gross-Leutschland". Lat r, on account cf the menace of air-raids , a dental stationmas ir.stalled in one of the shelters.

"Tov.ards the end cf September (1944) I mas called to the headquarters.Hitler complained about slight tend mess of the gingiva cf the upper left jam.He mas bed-ridden. He mas, as Prof Here 11 told me, suffering from an inflam-mation of the naso-pharyngeal area...

"Examination of the left upper jam disclosed only slight rubor cf thegingiva around the 2nd bicus id, no pain and hardly any secretion. Hhen Hitlermas able to get up again, an X-ray photo o 1 the 2nd bicuspid -as made.

Page 13: 01 FIR/31 3 Feb 46 HEADQUARTERS UNITED STATES FORCES

01 - FIR/31The picture shored a surprise formation of a deep pocket around the whole

root, almost as far as the tip of the root. There must, consequently, have beenan inflammation of this tooth in existence for the last months. It either didnot cause any pain, or the pain—wrongly diagnosed as neuralgic--ras killedthrough obtundents. Despite thorough questioning I could not get a clear pic-ture of the history of these pains from Hitler. Ec disliked intensely talkingabout his health.

!, I ranted earliest possible extraction of the tooth... he had to postponethis, horever, because Hitler's general condition did not permit an operationof this kind...

”.*t the end of October (1944) I obtained, after repeated reminders, per-mission to perform the extraction.

"The old bridge on the left upper jar ras then cut in front of the goldcrorn on the 2nd bicuspid... The tooth, together r ith the cut-off part of thebridge, came out very easily...

"On the occasion of this treatment I insisted that the treatment of theroot of the upper left central incisor be at last brought to an end, so thatunnecessary complications could be avoided... I ras promised that I mould becalled vithin the next fer reeks. I actually did receive the order, on 15December 1944» to report at the headquarters, rhere I arrived on l6 December,The headquarters ras then in the 7'est, in the vicinity of GIESSEN. Since theoffensive in the ’.Vest had started that morning I did not treat him...

"From the middle of January 1945 Hitler ras constantly in the BerlinReich Chancellery, Xgain and again he postponed the treatment of the upper leftincisor. He came once to the dental station far a short rhile in mid-Febru? ryfor a superficial examination. Besides the removal of tartar on the lorerincisors no treatment ras performed on that occasion."

(Bn^oCHiu_'s statement on files containing cards end X-ray photos of hispatients at the Reich Chancellery follors.)

"The patients’ file cards as well as the X-ray pictures of their teeth were, since the middle of January 1945 » constantly kept at the dental station in theVoss-Strasse shelter of the Reich Chancellery.

"On the night of 20/21 January 1945* I aras ordered to be ready formovement, with a minimum of baggage, rithin an hour. I ras helped in packingthe little portable dental station which I ranted to take with me by my dentalhelper, Lira K ethe 1JLUSER' XHX, and my assistant, Dr RCHKAMM. It is possible andeven likely that the files vere put in the seme box as the dental station. !ybaggage was then supposed to be sent from the Tempelhof airfield tc SALZBURGin a transport plane carrying baggage exclusively. This plane never arrived atfi/.T.ZRTiarc, anc from the Obersalzbcrg it could never be ascertained what hadbecome of it.'*

EVA BRAUN'S TEETH

Source: BLAbCHKE, Dr Hugo Johannes Position: Brig Gen in VJaffen SS, Hitler'sdentist

BLASCEIKE states that he treated Eva BRAUN at irregular intervals from1935 to 1945--for the last time at the BERLIN Reich Chancellery in March 1945*Treatments were performed during her stays at the Chancellery and at theBerghof on Obersalzberg. When in JUNIOR during Hitler's stays at his fieldheadquarters or during his travels, she was treated by a local dentist whosename 3LASCKNE is unable to recall.

Source states that, because of the irregularity of his treatments, he isnot absolutely certain about all the details of Eva BRAUN 1 s dentition and heregards that the X-ray pictures taken of it (see last two paragraphs of Annex1) are not available.
