    LDPE: Global Market Leader

    Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and LDPE copolymers are amongst the most significant plastics in the petrochemical industry. LDPE can be utilised in extremely versatile ways: for films, packaging vessels, household articles, tubes and hollow bodies. What just a few people know: In order to produce LDPE it is necessary to cope with pressures of 3,500 bar.

    High Competence and Complete Supply ProgramUhde HPT has been involved since the beginnings of the industrial manufacture of LDPE. We design and fabricate for all the important process providers according to the specifications and, as the market leader, we are involved in all the larger-scale LDPE projects.     Urea: Coping with Aggressive Media

    Urea plantsAggressive media as well as high pressures and temperatures make the greatest possible demands on the components of an urea plant. Plant references from all the process providers show that Uhde HPT fully satisfies the most stringent requirements.

    Proven ValvesAll the valve types necessary in an urea plant are developed and manufactured by Uhde HPT. They are free from copper-containing metals and can be manufactured with all the desired drives and material combinations. The modular structure guarantees that the valves can be adapted to various piping standards in a simple and cost-efficient way. Interchangeable seats and additional designs satisfy continuously increasing requirements. The entire controller is integrated into one control unit and installed with the valve in order to form one system without any interfaces. The manufacturing know-how for new alloys is developed further in order to avoid the well-known corrosion problems in urea operations.

    Safe PipingFurthermore, Uhde HPT provides: Completely prefabricated and tested isometrics and spools A comprehensive quality system Prefabricated, complete piping sections, including pressure testing - that does not only reduce the assembly time considerably, but also improves schedule efficiency and operational safety.

    Additional Components and Supply ProgramThe product range is rounded off by heat exchangers up to several hundred bar. Our supply program can replace existing components from all plant manufacturers without having to modify any surrounding components (tailor- made). It is the most cost-favourable option to maintain existing plants or upgrade them to the state of the art.

    During waterjet cutting the material to be processed is cut by a high-pressure waterjet.Almost irrespective of the condition and type of the material, the waterjet cuts with maximum possible precision and flexibility.

    Extraction with Supercritical Fluids: The Touchstone in the Trade

    Extraction is the separation of substance mixtures into their constituents, using suitable solvents, e.g. methanol, ethanol, propane or methylene chloride. However, to avoid unwanted residues of this solvent in the extracts or the raffinates, super-critical fluids today represent an excellent and envrironmentally friendly alternative.Substances dissolve many times better in supercritical fluids than would be expected on the basis of their vapour pressure. It is CO2 that has proven to be particularly suitable for the extraction of natural substances. The low critical temperature of 31 C permits gentle treatment, has an anti-bacterial effect and leads to low process costs.

    Maximum StandardAll the production plants of Uhde HPT are characterised by the equally high technical standard with flexibility and efficiency, reliability and longevity. Therefore, the large number of continuously operated plants with extremely long service lives set the standard for the sector.

    Scope of SupplyUhde HPT supplies tailor-made plants for all trades - in the case of pharmaceutical applications (upon request) including DQ, IQ and OQ according to cGMP and GAMP guidelines. That allows production in compliance with the rules of FDA, EMEA or comparable organisations. At present, there is a special demand for SFE plants with extractors which are operated in a cascade; they are designed for 350 - 1,000 bar and offer multistage fractionating separation.

    HPP: More than Food Preservation

    High-pressure processing (HPP) is an innovative method of preserving food. As an alternative to traditional processes, HPP is better at retaining the nutritional value, taste and structure of the products equally well with both solid and liquid food. One additional advantage: Since processing takes place in the final packaging, this meets maximum hygienic demands.

    High-Pressure applications: Unimagined possiblities

    High-pressure applications improve processes or, in part, permit them for the first time. For example, it was possible to significantly increase product quality in the semiconductor industry and in particle technology (microtechnology and nanotechnology). In this respect, the potential offered by high-pressure technology has not yet been exhausted by far. Uhde HPT therefore cooperates closely with the producing industries, research institutes and universities in order to test new ideas, develop methods and prove technical possibilities and economic viability in feasibility studies.

    Utilisation in the Pharmaceutical SectorThe pharmaceutical industry makes increasing use of the advantages of supercritical gases such as CO2, e.g. in order to extract active ingredients from plants, produce and coat fine par-ticles or clean implants. Uhde HPT has built tailor-made plants, including DQ, IQ and OQ according to cGMP and GAMP guidelines which allow production according to the rules of FDA, EMEA or similar organisations.
