A 1. Lack of vocabulary. e.g. nouns and verbs.

Introduce the relevant vocabulary pertaining to the topics.

2. Memorizing sentences drilled by the language teacher.e.g. unable to express the ideas in their own words.

Allow pupils to elaborate their own thoughts rather than following the sample answers given.

3. Elaboration on the reason for key point is lacking. This deprives pupils of getting higher bands.

Encourage the pupils to use conjunctions .. Eg. because, so, and, but etc.

1. Emphasize the teaching of grammar especially on tenses.

2. Get pupils to think out of box and do creative writing.

3. Encourage pupils to do extensive reading.
