Model parameters

λ : autocatalytic factor, a parameter that is relevant for the nucleation behaviour

κ : rate parameter, dependent on:• dγ : austenite grain size• Qb : activation energy (empirical formula, Metall. Mater. Trans. A. (2010) )

• Th : bainite start temperature (empirical formula)

Bainite kinetics above Ms

Model parameters:dγ = 22 µmλ = 24 (constant)

At t = 0 s:Qb = 75 kJ/molTh = 536 ºC

Th and Qb depend on Carbon content in remaining austenite!

Example, at 420ºC-300s: Qb = 126 kJ/mol ; Th = 424 ºC ; f = 0.75

Mainly the decrease in Th accounts for incomplete transformation
