Jet Research Centers Setting Tools feature top and bottom

pistons to eliminate presetting of plugs, retainers, or packers.

A slow burning power charge allows positive setting with

less shock stress. These tools are easily maintained and

have self-bleeding capabilities. In addition, Long-Stroke

Wireline Pressure Setting Tools feature increased stroke

length to enable the setting of casing patches, long travel

bridge plugs, and any tool requiring more than normal stroke

and tension than standard conventional pressure setting tools.

Their features are the same as the standard tools except for

the addition of a second working piston.

There are three types of redress kits for each JRC Setting

Tool: Hight Temperature, Standard and Arctic. The redress

kit consists of o-rings, the bleed plug and the shear pin.

The Elite bridge plug is used mainly in cased

hole for permanent or temporary plugging. Elite

bridge plugs prevent movement of uid or gas

from either direction in below a perforated sec-

tion before squeeze-cementing or fracturing,

providing a pressure seal for testing casing, set-

ting in a dry hole prior to abandonment (to allow

recovery of upper casings), and repairing surface

equipment.

Mechanical bridge plugs can be run and set by

drill pipe or tubing, but are usually set with a

high-pressure electric WST. Other techniques

include setting on coiled tubing using a pressure-

actuated ring head. Where the plug is requiredfor life of well applications or is planned or

perforate the zone next to the plug, the durabil-

ity and strength of the plug can be increased by

dumping cement on top of the plug after is set.

Before running a job, it is essential to select the

proper size and type of bridge plug, considering

the following factors: Borehole temperature

Maximum differential pressure to which the plugwill be subjected.

Borehole restrictions through which the plug andWST will have to pass.

Actual casing or tubing size where the bridge plugwill have to seal.

Elite Magna-Range Bridge Plug

The Elite Magna-Range Bridge Plug is a specialtyplug designed to run through tubing or restrictedpipe and set in the larger tubing or casing below the

restricted interval. This capability saves considerabletime and expense by eliminating the need to pulltubing to set a plug. Elite Magna-Range Plugs havemany of the advanced design features of Elite cast-iron bridge plugs.

Features:

Designed to pass through restrictions and setbelow in tubing or casing with a larger ID than therestriction.

For the same setting range, the running OD issmaller than conventional bridge plugs.

Can be set on wireline, tubing, or coiled tubing orslickline using explosive setting tools or a DPUdownhole power unit.

Single-piece slip design to reduce the chances ofpremature setting. Slip OD is less than the plugbody OD.

Slips set securely in grade P-110 casing.

Winged cones guide the slips to evenly spacedpositions against the pipe.

Rocker action steel backups, steel petals, and arm rubber backup support softer rubber sealingelement.

Ratchet lock-ring holds the dynamic setting force.

Elite Magna-Range Bridge Plugs come in 13different sizes with pipe setting IDs between 1.610to 6.625 in.

All sizes of Magna-Range plugs have the option ofeither Nitrile, Viton or Aas seal elements.

Where the plug is required for life-of-wellapplications, or it is planned to perforate the zonenext to the plug, the durability and strength of theplug can be increased by dumping 10 to 20 ft ofcement on top of the plug once it has been set. Before

running a job, it is essential to consider the size andproper selection of the bridge plug. The followingfactors should be considered:
