L07 – Distributed HMI with FactoryTalk® View Site Edition: Introductory Lab: Learn about the basic capabilities and features of a FactoryTalk® View Site Edition application for both desktop and mobile in this hands-on lab. You will build a simple application from the beginning. Topics include creating an application, adding displays, working with tags and animations, basic alarming, trending and mobility.

L11 – Introduction to the PlantPAx® Distributed Control System for Operations and System Engineering: Explore the PlantPAx® DCS within a simulated plant environment through the eyes of an operator or system engineer. You will learn about navigating and interfacing with key system functions in a utilities and batch area, and how to execute simple configuration changes and add a new control strategy using the Rockwell Automation® Library of Process Objects.

L13 – Easy Advanced Control Embedded in PlantPAx®: The operational benefits realized from Model Predictive Control (MPC) are significant and show rapid project returns. Implement model predictive control in a Logix chassis or learn how the Process Library MPC toolkit makes MPC easier than ever to implement. Library objects to perform plant tests for process models, to switch between MPC and PID, and to track MPC model quality now support developing, operating and maintaining your application.

See how security features in managed switches, like port security, access control lists, and port thresholds, as well as specific capabilities of the Stratix® 5950 Security appliance with deep packet inspection, can help mitigate potential security risks.

L17 – Studio 5000® and Logix: Basics Lab: New to Logix programming or need a quick refresher on the basics? This session will provide an overview of the core capabilities that are offered in Studio 5000® and highlight the importance of good design practices. Mastering these fundamentals will help ensure a good design and prepare you for the advanced session.

L18 – Studio 5000® and Logix: Advanced Lab: This advanced Studio 5000® and Logix lab will allow you to explore topics of interest and quickly see how capabilities add the most value to your design. By the end of this session, you will be on your way to becoming an expert.

L20 – Studio 5000 View Designer® Featured on the PanelView™ 5000 Graphic Terminals: Learn how to increase productivity with Studio 5000 View Designer™ software and PanelView™ 5000. Topics include creating a new application, using built-in animation for graphic elements, configuring basic security, exploring runtime diagnostics, using Add-On Graphics and configuring runtime language switching. This lab will also cover new features such as data logging and historical trending, VNC, PDF viewer and emulate.

L21 – ThinManager® Experience the Platform’s Power and Simplicity: Basic Lab: This lab introduces the primary building blocks of the ThinManager® platform while demonstrating its ease of use and flexible content delivery options within a FactoryTalk® environment. This session includes hands-on training with the latest Rockwell Automation® industrial grade box thin client, the VersaView® 5200.

T02 – How to Get Started with Embedded Analytics: We want to help customers make decisions as close to the source of the data as possible. We have embedded analytics offerings designed to be embedded within a control network – both at the device and system level. Learn about Project Sherlock and FactoryTalk® Analytics for Devices and how they can bring you value today.

T03 – Using TeamONE™ for Secure Mobility and Collaboration: Collaboration through integrated mobility tools, like FactoryTalk® TeamONE,™ helps you increase reliability and uptime for your manufacturing operation. In this session, you will see the real-time value of FactoryTalk® TeamONE™ by identifying problematic devices quickly. We will highlight the integration between FactoryTalk® TeamONE™ with FactoryTalk® Alarms and Events, FactoryTalk® Analytics for Devices, Drives, Controllers and other EtherNet/IP devices. Mobility requires wireless connectivity, which is another new concept for many manufacturers and demonstrates the need for IT/OT convergence. Collaboration between IT and OT will be imperative to implementing a mobility solution securely. T16 – Resilient Network Protocols for High-availability Systems: High-availability process control systems require networks that match them in reliability. T27 – Arc Flash Hazards and Arc Resistant Equipment – Understanding Standards and Solutions: Uncover the “how-to” of implementing arc resistant equipment within typical industrial or commercial facilities. This workshop offers insight into several practical aspects of procuring and applying arc resistant equipment including NFPA 70E highlights, arc flash basics, a review of arc resistant equipment including the PowerFlex® 7000 and arc assessment services.
