Finance NewsLast Sunday, the Finance Team was pleased to announce that our congregation has received an

anonymous gift of approximately $40,000!This generous gift is donor-designated for a new projector in the auditorium, and for the complete repayment of the remaining building debt. In 1999, we began our building expansion at a cost of $2,117,354 and since then we have paying that debt down over time. We are very blessed to be debt-free earlier than we planned. Praise the Lord for His gracious provision!

Congregational Vote - Women in OfficeBased on the results of the recent survey on the topic of women serving in ministry

leadership, the Council will be bringing the following motion to the congregation for official vote on Sunday, April 10:

We open all offices in the church to everyone gifted to serve—both male and female.

Because of the importance of this issue, the Council has determined that this motion will only be approved by a super-majority of 67%. As a practical matter, it is important to note that the approval of this motion does not necessarily mean that our next Senior Pastor should or will be a woman. It does, however, open the door for possible Associate Pastors or Guest Pastors to come minister with us at some point in the future.

We have offered and enjoyed several sessions of informal discussion where each person could safely share their perspective on this issue. The Council is offering one more opportunity for discussion on this issue preceding the vote:

April 3 - Formal, structured meeting following the service in the Sanctuary

If you are unable to attend the official vote on April 10, you may send an absentee ballot to the Church Office on or before April 10. Absentee ballots are available in the Foyer, and must be accompanied by a signature either on the ballot or the containing envelope.

Please pray for God’s wisdom and guidance as we consider this issue as a church body.

Announcements

Urgent Housing Need

We have a single mother with a Junior High School-aged son who urgently needs to find a housing situation for six months to a year. This need belongs to our own Office Administrator, Debbie Mercado, and her son, Danny.

If you have—or know of—a mother-in-law apartment or a basement with rooms that are vacant, it would be a great ministry to them. Please contact the church so that we can field housing opportunities that would be appropriate.

Thank you for being the body of Christ to each other in all seasons of life.

First Christian Reformed Church of Seattle is a gospel and grace-centered community learning how to follow Jesus. We belong to a broader community called The Christian Reformed Church. What does this mean?

We call ourselves… Christian… Because we belong to Jesus Christ and want to be his followers. Reformed… Because we’re part of the historic branch of the Christian church that follows the teachings of the leaders of the Protestant Reformation, who struggled to return Christianity to its biblical roots. Church… Because God has called us to be a fellowship of his people in the world.
