    playgroundorleaveitasastandalonearea. Departmentslookingintobuildingasplashpark

    mustgothroughadetailedplanningsessionthatdiscussesdesign issues(e.g.,parking,shade,

    signage, showers, trash,etc). Itwasexplained thatsecurityand safetyare twomajor issues

    thatmustbeconsideredwhenbuildingasplashparkinyourcommunity. Themostimportant

    factorinsplashparkdesignisthebudget. Therearemanyfeaturesthatarevarieddepending

    onthecostthatcanbeput intodesign.Asanexample,thedecisionbetweenpotableversus

    recirculatingsystemsisnotonlyimportantforthebudgetbutalsoforthedailymaintenanceof

    the area. A splash park area can be advantageous to the community as well as your

    department.
