In this second Sunday we have added the nails to the cross in the

front of the sanctuary With these nails we are reminded of the greatphysical price Jesus paid for the redemption of our sins

Isaiah writes ldquowith his wounds we are healedrdquo The Psalmist writesldquoDogs have surrounded me a band of evil men has encircled me they

have pierced my hands and my feet I can count all my bones people stareand gloat over me They divide my garments among them and cast lots formy clothingrdquo

As we are in worship this morning let us remember that all of theseevents that Christ endured on our behalf were real That reality makesthe message of the Gospel urgent and significant to every person withwhom we come in contact Let us be faithful workers in the harvest field
